Description Squall is an Avian Sapien Chimera, engineered by GeneTech. Her DNA has been Spliced with the predatory bird of prey, the Osprey. Squall’s skeletal structure is hollow and her broad rib cage has a keel that supports enlarged heart and lungs, and hybrid musculature. All Avian Sapien Chimeras' created by GeneTech appear barrel chested to support the enlarged organs and respiratory system that is needed for flight.

Squall's Handlers unofficially named her after the violence that erupts whenever she enters a room. Squall bites. Squall scratches. She once broke the arm of a Scientist after he tapped her hand with a ruler because she wasn’t paying attention in class. Lately, Squall has been testing her pitching arm, and she’s been throwing anything that isn’t nailed down at the GeneTech personnel. She is 10 years old. A Date Of Termination is embedded into her DNA and she will never grow old enough to become an adult. It's not like she has anything to be upset about...

This is Squall. This is a wing and clothes study. Faber Castel Pencils. 2B, HB and 2F.

Lovely sketches and your story is entertaining too... One question though, how's she get the hoodie on and off?

How she gets out of this particular hoodie? GeneTech also branched off into a number of applications outside of Bioengineering. There is one subsidiary branch dedicated to R&D for warfare. This includes camouflage, bullet proof vests and other textile's. The material for this hoodie is really stretchy, it can be stretched up to ten times its size and still maintains it's shape once it returns back to it's natural state. Think Fantastic 4 and Mr Fantastic's outfit. I'll have to illustrate this concept ^-^

I see what you mean though...there's the issue of credibility to consider. Perhaps I should redesign future clothes so that they have long, narrow slits cut along the top and bottom? Should Squall be wearing clothes made out of normal materials.

Personally I just have all of my winged characters either having clothes that tie in the back (a piece of fabric comes between the wings, and then a piece of fabric on either side of the waist) for older style clothing, or velcro/button/hook with the same design.

Cool, I’m redesigining the hoodie now. The hoodie I now have in mind is still a tailored fit, however it has a zipper at the end of where the holes for the wings go through and it runs all the way to the bottom of the garment.

Hey I was wondering if you have any pics of the design you described? ^_^

Nah, I've never drawn it, just wrote a lot about it. I should get to drawing it though! Might be a good idea to get out.
