Description
A piece exploring how our true feelings can be covered up by icky, nasty words that spew out of our mouth in times of struggle or anger. Behind every shout or snide remark, we may actually be struggling to call out for help (if you’ll notice, “help” is slightly visible within the gooey web, which resembles a speech bubble).
Meanwhile, we may detest what we see coming out of ourselves and become frightened by what is inside us. Eyes open wide in fear, we wish we could speak more clearly, wipe away the goo and dirt, and say what we really mean. But somehow we can’t. And it hurts. Our mouth feels stuck, gummed up, relaying information we don't really want nor mean to say. In a heated moment, such a thing can lead to regret and heartache.
Sort of a companion to , I guess.

I'm really, really quite proud of this! I had so much fun painting it. It's sort of a weird part to like, but I love the goo! I've never really tried drawing sticky, gooey stuff before, so I'm happy with how it turned out. The rest of it I like too, it's just...dat goo. The eye bothers me a little, but it's supposed to be wide open and fearful...maybe it's too small? I'm not sure...what do you guys think? OTL

nice, love the symbolism, the goo is really well done, the striking green contrasts really well
to make his eye look more "scared" you can make his pupil smaller
