Okay. You probably have to be ten kinds of a nerd for this to make sense, so let me break it down.

The current Self-Central assignment is to hunt Mary-sues in a fandom by taking the form of a Mary-Sue yourself. I went back to my roots and chose the comic Knuckles the Echidna, because Knux rox. (If you don't know who Knuckles is, you don't play enough video games.)

Knuckles acquired a girlfriend in the early stages of his career named Julie-sue. She only appeared in the comic, as did Echidnaeopolis, where this is set. As you can see, there have been some humorous name-mistaking shenanigans.

The significance of my z-stripe is related to the white stripe on Knuckles (currently covered by his mitts.) Knuckles is the hereditary guardian of the Floating Island, and all guardians are marked by a white ring that goes around their neck and over their chests. Anyway, as a Gary-stu I am clearly the product of a distant hidden guardian bloodline, returned to challenge Knux for my rightful place as a protector of the Floating Island.

I also have a star. Because I like stars.
