First off, you're not really their friend if you don't think they deserve the same rights as you. So that's off the table right there - a real friend wouldn't think any less of you or think you deserve less regardless of your sexual orientation because...shocker, a person's sexuality has - and shouldn't have - no bearing on their personality! With real friends, you can be completely yourself without fear of judgement.But yeah...I see this a lot where a homophobic person will try and justify themselves by saying they have gay friends. They're not 'get-out-of-jail' free cards, guys...quit acting like they are. In a way, it seems like you only make friends with them because you think it gives you something to cover your ass with whenever you say something stupid.
The same could go with anyone who is against LGBT+ but uses their 'LGBT+ Friends' as a ticket to immunity from criticism.
