Yay~

While I do possibly see why some of the fandom has mixed feelings about this movie due to perspectives and such, I quite liked it.
Especially the music, it just drives it home for me. I also liked the rival gimmick while not expanded upon so much as it seemed to be, I still liked it. Also, while it may not have much of an attachment to Rainbow Rocks, maybe due to the magic being more of a issue but as a side things until late in the story, or not directly picking it off from where Rainbow Rocks roughly left off, etc.
I liked Friendship Games as a "breather" of sorts, as Fluttershy said, magic related problems aren't the most and only important things that you should take seriously and such.

While everypony has their own opinions, I can see that but to make this short, for me I don't really compare this movie to the prior since I felt it stood its ground well as the others in certain aspects but each one of the movies as its own faults.

Overall I did like this movie dispute the faults and- Wait. *notices fanart slide show* Oh wow! I didn't expect to be showcased like that! XD
