I'm experimenting a bit with alternate hairstyles.Here, we have Adagio starting over with a new life and a new line of work. And what if this was her "natural" hair, and the cheese-poof was just for show?
In my head-canon, she loves fine clothing and expensive wines, so if/when she finally comes around to understanding friendship and looking for a new purpose in life, why not get something going with Rarity at her boutique? Though, of course, she'd never be able to fully shed that prideful snark. Hence her expression here.

I chose the natural hair color here to match her show-accurate eyebrow color.

I hope to. Just a matter of time and ideas. In my mind, they still live together (and have a rather nice rented house somewhere, or such). You'd have to imagine after so long influencing people that someone with Adagio's savvy would have a pretty big stockpile of either hoarded or invested wealth.

Wow, she looks so different, and at the same time, you can kinda still see that streak of deviousness running through her. And yet, even with the subdued sneering, she seems so much more approachable with the comparatively normal "Street" dress and haircut that she did as a dazzling. I like it.

I have mixed feelings about that hair, she looks good no doubt, but the long fluffy hair is so dagi.
The only bad thing is that nobody seems to have written a fan fiction with your idea

I have to say, it's frightening how professional she looks like this. I'll be honest, the enormous hair put me off at first until it grew on me a little, but I like this visual of her.
And if anyone wants try to think of her in the story, just try to imagine there's an angry woman behind her who bears an uncanny resemblance to Granny Smith

Funny thing about enormous proportions too - when you really look closely at the head vs the rest of the body on a show-accurate proportioned EG like this, it does start to look a bit odd in some respects. Still cute overload though.
In my head, I pictured auntie Needle as more of a mid 50's thin librarian type. But goes to show how imagination works with different folks.

Well I never did actually show aunt Needle in the story, so she is open to interpretation. I like the idea of her being a librarian type though, it hadn't occurred to me before. I just couldn't imagine an Apple Family librarian I guess XD
Well you can say that about a lot of drawing styles in cartoons. Exaguration is the order of the day after all.
