Description
For your appraisal, my version of the lovely Sally Acorn, of Sonic fame (albeit the cartoon-nude version, just to be safe). How close do you think I got?Krystal model created by CharleyFox and rigged for Poser by Little_Dragon. Vixen model commissioned from Imago3d. Textures by FoxyFellowUK.

Gonna have to live with that little discrepancy - as much as I'd like to it's not something I can do without it looking really strange. Still, as long as people like her I can deal with a small error like that.

Sonic characters have 5 fingers, and I searched for Sally pics and I saw 5 fingers too...

You know, there are more constructive ways to say "I think you're nowhere near". I'm always open to honest criticism and opinions. wouldn't have posted this and asked for thoughts if I wasn't going to listen to them.
I'm also the last person you want to try and troll.

Oh, OK. I was just confused by your use of 'brown Krystal'. Didn't sound like you thought much of my efforts at making Sally. So easy to misinterpret.

Isn't she lovely. Too bad the poser can't do her robotocized.

Am I detecting a dislike of Ms Acorn here, or just a penchant for her robotic incarnation?

Fits your style just fine, but not the one I'm used to seeing her presented as.

Is that a good or a bad thing? I'm honestly curious. I want her to be as recognisably herself as I can manage.

I guess it depends on how you view that.
Have you heard they are attempting to give her a putrid design change?

Very true. Such a subjective area, huh?
Yes - very aware, and hate it just as much as you do. It feels like they've stripped away everything that made her Sally, visually, and left a generic, unimaginative SegaFemale in her place. If it hasn't happened already I really hope someone at Archie sees some sense and stops it. Leave her be, please.

Ah, the roboticisation saga. Yeah, that was the kind of thing I'd expect of Japanese guro manga, not Sonic the Comic. I'm certainly not opposed to dark or challenging themes, mind you, but there's a time and a place and you have to handle them very well, and Archie seem to have failed on all counts. Certainly they've had pretty cynical and cheap motivations behind it all, but what else is new? There's a reason I prefer to avoid them and stay with SATAM - characters come first for me, but they seem to have no respect for them, especially the ladies.
I'm very fond of Sally, as she's my idea of a true strong female, capable in many ways without the aid of weaponry or exaggerated curves, and that's the Sal I'm trying to capture, in 3D and writing.

Very close, in your style.
BTW, naturist photos and videos are legal in every city, every state and every county inside the United States. They are protected by the First Amendment and are not subject to local obscenity laws or ordinances. The depiction of adults and children nude in the visual media has enjoyed constitutional protection in the United States since 1958, when the Supreme Court vacated a Court of Appeals finding that Sunshine& Health magazine could be obscene (Sunshine Book Co. v. Summerfield, Postmaster General, 355 U.S. 372). The right to depict adults and children in innocent nude poses has been upheld without a pause for 41 years. In case after case, the Supreme Court and lower courts have always upheld the constitutionality of "nudity without more," specifically referring to the nudist depiction as a fully constitutional form of expression.
Suck on that, dA rules!!! (extracted from www.purenudism.com)
But probably the staff will not care about this and ban anyway a character shown naked in its original context, as the did with my pic of Phibrizo. I'll post them all again now, knowing this!!

Thanks!
Well, that's very interesting to know. Doesn't mean DA can't decide not to allow depictions of naturist kids, but it does mean they need to be a lot more honest in stating why. "It's porn" really, really doesn't cut it, because it legally isn't, as you've shown. Also reinforces a belief of mine - context, tone and intent matter, and those thinking otherwise are indulging in a dangerous form of censorship. You can't judge art on such simple terms.

lingkailan In reply to SkycladFox [2013-04-18 21:35:12 +0000 UTC]
Of course, if you think that an artistic nude is a "sexualised child", you don't know anything about art. Knowing this now I really can't imagine a reason for those rules. They don't want nude fan art of underage characters to prevent sexual depictions of them?!! It's OK they don't want porn, but naturists nudes are as far from porn as possible! You can be naked doing nothing sexual, as you can have sex dressed. But they allow nudes of your OC depending on the context, so you could post Beck and Gabby naked!
BTW, is your drepression getting better?
