Aaah so about a year ago I made a small sketchpage for Erik, and my headcanons for his appearance, including a front-facing portrait like the one I made yesterday. I didn't intend to use it for this meme, but I also literally drew it again so... here we are! I have plans to intentionally fill this meme later on when I have more time, though, using a character who's seen it before...Over all I'd say I've improved a lot- my understanding of how anatomy works, how to structure a face and draw things more realistically... and the hair is so much better even though it's not great RIP. I also think I'm much better equipped with my current skillset to portray the grotesque nature of Erik's deformities- he looks a little less 'Prince Zuko' now.
I'd love to see what you think of the difference between years!! Please feel free to leave a comment/critique!(I'd prefer constructive- no 'this one sucks' comments please ;w; )

Really good anatomy and linework (I am in LOVE with this linework and shading), but the eyes seem a little cartoony and dark in contrast, they just feel kind of out of place. Maybe use a lighter eye coloring technique so it could fit in with the character's skin. As well as making the iris smaller vvv Good job overall though. I think it looks epic. Texturing is nice too.

Aah I'm so so sorry for taking forever to reply to this! Uni absolutely ate up my entire life for a while!
The 'after' version of this is actually about a year old now, and I'm getting ready to try my hand at it a third time soon, so hopefully I'll be able to correct the things that are throwing it off now!
