When Mark meets up again with his sister Clair after a few years, it's not under the best of circumstances: she's in jail and one Doctor Octopus is coming to break her out. This obviously must be all his fault - Clair was such a good girl! "What has he done to you?" he asks, as everyone else has. The fact that Clair is in love never crossed his mind.Okay, enough with the backstory. Since Otto and Clair are technically from the Spectacular Spider-man story arc, I had to at least attempt to draw them a la Humberto Ramos. I got...well, I got somewhat close. I had no idea what to do for a background, so I just put some splotches out there, added some noise, and then switched around the color to something I like.
The tentacles didn't give me as much trouble as I had anticipated. I wanted to go for a "who's really in charge here?" feeling. I also wanted Otto to be a shadowing and somewhat overbearing presence, but didn't want to make it look like he was sneaking up on Clair, ready to pounce. A few changes from the scrap version of this pic, most noteably some halfway decent shading.

Dispite the fact I'm not a Ramos fan, I really like this pic!
You certainly succeded in your goal: Otto looks like an obediant, menancing puppy following his owner sullenly, as if he wants to go off and smash a certain wall crawler like a bug with a car, but isn't, 'cause its time to go home.

Ahem... this is long overdue, but I love this picture. The tentacles are shiny, and I like how the two up near the top almost look like they're kissing. And your Ramos!Ock looks good; not too gorrilla-ish. Nice!

I love what you did with the actuators and with Otto's coat. Very nicely done. And Clair looks so tineh! The actuators look marvellous, they really do.

Yeah, it's awful bright, huh. That in itself is Ramos (I mean, look at how MJ looks. She doesn't dye her hair, nooo...) but I can easily tone it down. I'll letcha know when I do so.

Oh hey, I had a dream I met you. You mostly wanted to hang out in the backyard and look at plants, and you shared your dream of opening a chain of thrift stores. Then again, also in the dream I borrowed a pair of gloves from Drew Barrymore while attending the winter olympic games, so it's not like these dreams mean much.
