The younger brother of Sandstorm and the second son of Optimus Prime and Elita-1, Bulkhead was once a smaller Autobot named Hardhead. He was almost destroyed in a battle with the vicious Decepticon Blitzwing along with Sandstorm and his friend Highbrow. As a result, he had to be completely upgraded. Not to say that it's changed him internally in any way shape or form. In all truth, he's a kid in a tough guy's armor. He's still deathly afraid of Blitzwing, he still doesn't like to fight, and he's still very timid in conversations with his commanding officers. He actually seems to be the son that Prime appreciates the most, and this worries Bulkhead as he is truly afraid that Sandstorm will get jealous and start to hate him (plus he is a great chunk taller than his older sibling). All the protective plating in the universe couldn't protect or change Bulkhead's big, fragile spark.

The kind-hearted and extremely timid Bulkhead is based off of the equally timid Alphonse Elric. I think that this works the best out of any of my designs as Alphonse actually looks like Bulkhead. Plus, Al, even though he is a suit of armor, is a big dude.
