Aside from that, for people that do not know death note, this picture has to do with L (white wings) falling to see Light (black wings) in hell, because L was sent to heaven and Light was not. Temporary or permanent visit? Who knows. Light is in there permanently for being a mass murderer.

It's a pretty piece. I like the warm shades of brown (almost like coffee, yammy!), and the wing technique you used. Heh, I have a thing to wings myself, anyway, so this looks very nice.

This is the best pic i've seen with the real 'death' idea, or the angel wings. lots of people draw them like that, ^D^ lol but this the best one i've seen!!

It's the second one you can see eyes of top left. There's sorta a dent in the middle and a kinda-point that makes it look like a heart.

so far i think this is my favorite of yours. i love the consistency of the neutral colors and i definitely love the way you added the light coming from above.
as far as the drawing itself goes, your anatomy seems right on except for the feet. the wings seem weird to me too. the white wings would look really good if he were.. flying or standing or something... but he's not, he's lying down and the left one would be touching the ground at least a little bit.
also the wing on the larger character, on the viewer's right, can't really being covering his shoulder like that as it's attached to his back.
overall i love it. :]
