A Newer version of my old character Spartan for my comic book The Guild. I made several changes, most of which I was quite happy with. What was wrong with the original? Nothing, I was happy with the original, but as I looked at my planned story I realized Spartan did not ring true to his character. My initial design had one major problem, I had modeled his look too much out of both Batman and Magneto. I had wanted a leader, a rugged hard, war torn slightly modernized version of Hellenic Spartans. What I originally made was sleek like batman, and smooth in form, like magneto. I decided to incorporate some more ancient styles to the helmet, adding the top brush and shaping the eye slots from rectangular to somewhat diamond like shape. I thought of going all the way to the olden lemon shaped holes but i wanted more to mix it with an edgier modern look thus the diamond shape. As much as I wante dthe cool long sleek Batman-like cape, I decided that Spartan would fit the part more having torn up cloaks, never replacing it after each battle as Spartans are always thrifty. I took a more Frank Miller design to the shield, it makes a bigger impact and is much easier to draw. His inward clothes are somewhat modernized, having half- boots half greaves. This is just a preliminary character sketch, it was a quick draw to put my character design ideas down. To come ar ethe new Sniper, Pitlord and Galatea design
