Description
School is finally over, and I've got WINTER BREAK!Again, no speedpaint sadly, finals took priority. But there should be a video out next week
so until then, enjoy this quick study I made. Really trying to polish up this new method for
painting, and I think it'll be a great time saver once I work out all the issues and streamline the
process. Enjoy!

This is absolutely gorgeous. I don't know how you were able to paint this so fast. Something like this would take me several days at least.
I have two weeks left until my own winter break and it just can't come fast enough.

I don't really have anything to critique. Just - amazing. I'm honestly in awe.
Finding new ways to do your art is always great; I'm still figuring out what works best for me as well and have a hell more to learn and experiment!

Yay for holidays now you can enjoy rest an art!!
And how "quick" are these studies of yours again? XD this looks very polished to me at least.
I really love the softness of this - compared to your previous paintings this one looks more refined and more like a painting than
a 3D render. Nice balance with partly visible lineart and just the right amount of texture. Next I would like to see you do something like this in
a different light setting :3

I label it "quick" if I got it done on the same day, or in under 3 hours. This was 2 hours roughly, but I splintered it into 30 minutes per day over a week. This was done on finals week, I have to draw every day, even if its just for a little bit of time, so I used this study for that. I wanna make another, and make sure I streamline the process better.

Wow XD impressive.
Gee I should really get into habit of drawing something for myself every day D: as of late it has mainly been commissioned work
that consumes my time.

For me, and I know its not really my place to talk about this since I don't yet my living off of commissions, but commissions are always secondary to my pieces and my studies.
Not because I don't care about my clients, but because commissions stagnant progress, you can't always challenge yourself with a commission and it stagnates your style. My joy in art is seeing that development, that change, and improvement if I do not see it, I am unhappy.

Well I'm not talking about online commissions ^^' I've had this pro illustration project running for a while
and it might end up big and has actual deadlines - and that has eaten up most of my time >8I luckily it's soon over ... perhaps...
But I do agree with you and I don't plan on taking any more commissions in a while after new year - since I really wanna
take back this crazy autumn and start working on my own progress.

You work too hard in general, you need like a 6-month break to just do your thing.

Luckily yesterday was my last 12-hour day since I quit my evening job and I'll be employed for the next whole spring,
which means stability, monies and set timetable meaning I can't better take advantage of my free time! So I'm hopefull 2019
will be productive!

I love Highwire so much ;3; She's just so amazing
FIRSTLY! The first thing I saw is that you added some texture to your painting and I must say, this definately is a step up from how your test painting of Crimson was. The texture just adds so much more life and visual interest to the piece, it helps keep it from looking too clean and digital if that makes sense.
I think you've found a pretty good medium of lineless painting with some minimal lines to help show some separation and depth of various pieces. There are a few places that are very dark and it almost looks like you coloured some line art, but that's also me gettingreal up close and personal with my computer screen looking for things to bit pick. I think with some practice and tinkering you'll be able to find the right balance of lines and lineless painting that works for your characters and your style.
For the most part; the shilouette reads well, though I start to lose her hand/forearm over her hip only because those pieces are the same colour.
The tiny sliver of background that is showing between her wings and just above her arm bugs me. It seems pretty silly to have that and I would have just made that all the foreground wing.
It took me a while of specifically looking for tangent lines (you've gotten very very good at avoiding them from the start, I'm so proud of you!) But watch the top of her shoulder piece, the one closest to the viewer is just touching her wing.
I'm seriously in love with this piece and this painting style, just asdfghjkl I'm so proud of how much you've worked to figure out a lineless style and for trying it out on your robot characters!

Thank you so much for the feedback! I always appreciate the critique, I'll keep in mind all your suggestions as always, and I'm absolutely going to do more of these and I'm going to do my best to keep everything in mind in my next study!
