'Nother large one. Hit the download button for a crisp/clear image if you need to!Christmas gift for ~dragontrap of her Amuse! I picked the dragon version, since obviously she has scales. And I like scales.
You've had so many hardships fall into your lap this year and previous, I sincerely hope things start to look up for you in the next year. You keep on truckin' though, and you have friends who are rootin' for the best. Hope all is well, and hope you have a happy holiday.

I'll be posting one piece of gift art each day for the next few days up to the 1st of January, aka NEW YEAR (Or at least try to)! I still have a few to finish up, so posting times may be irregular. It feels good to properly ink again!
Thanks to all of my lovelies who hung out with me in my stream for couple nights while I slaved away on this. For some reason this was the LONGEST one out of the batch. I have no idea why. It was fun, guys. <3

Just out of curiosity, how long does it take you to do all those scales?

The line work itself... Gosh, only a couple of hours or so. Coloring is a completely different matter and can totally very depending on whether or not I stay focused. XD;

This one DID take ages! Compared to my other scaled piece, - Rakuyu -, and I have no earthly clue why because Raku is clearly the more complicated of the two. >_> Perhaps it was my fighting with light sources. I don't know.

It really depends! The other pieces, for some reason, didn't take a fraction as long as this one did. I have no idea why, perhaps it was because I was fighting with the light source on this one? Who knows!

Omggggg I GOT TO WATCH THIS HAPPENNNNNN omgomg so many scales. Like I know everyone's like OMG SKY SCALES but aldkfnvafdj there's a REASON for it omg LOOK AT THEM ALL *touches them* Like omg there are like 5544302 different sizes of face scales and all those body scales and they just run down the body with such grace and curvy freeking beauty UGH I want to look at them forever and ever HOW DO YOU HAVE THE PATIENCE HOW? omg I wouldn't. And the shading is SO LOVELY. Omg the scales all have this gorgeous blue sheen to them and it's so LOVELY and the way you used the cel-shadiness and the blues for the wing membrane shades is SO amazing and ugh, like, I love how you can see the pointy bits of his mouth on the OTHER SIDE of his mouth and omg that super-beady eye and omg BLUE. Somuchblue *rolls in it forever*.
