Behind the Scenes: The mane flowing around the neck was finished before I had ever started on the fur lining the tail and wings. Then I remembered how I painted fur in a previous painting and decided to remake the entire mane from scratch. I think it looks much better than before (and not 80's hair-band fuzz)! The background was originally requested to be a swirling blizzard, but after some time the background request changed to mimic Sez's profile picture on her front page. :>

Oh wow! This is STUNNING! I'm not sure what you were going for in the wings, but it sort of looks like Steampunk mechanics blended in the organic within the wrists of the wings. I like it....and those feathers....those really sharp feathers. I love everything about it. Amazing perspective, translucency of the feathers, the fur.... just all....wow!

I just realized... I didn't zoom in XD I'm super embarrassed. Dang this small laptop it fooled me.
However I still feel that the face (specially on top of the snout) could use a bit more of definition with a hard brush. Maybe some nice hard lines to contrast that lightning if that makes sense? The rest I see you contrasted well with the hard and soft brush. The front hands also could use a bit more definition to really give it that 3d POP effect. Specially the one closest to the viewer I feel is a tad bit lost and blurry. These are all my lil nitpicks, zooming in definitely fixed most of the problem haha! xD

Beautiful composition. Very interesting critter too. Can't quite wrap my brain around the face though. I'm just tired I think. Stayed up to late, but is that.... a beak AND teeth? Crazy soft fur too. Makes me wanna touch it. Love all the blues. I'm curious how he/she flies with fur on the wings. Probably not as difficult as I'm imagining but super cool either way. Very unique in design. Fierce and independent. Great job yet again!!

Wow this is so beautiful! The shading and details look fantastic. The texturing of the fur looks really good, it looks detailed yet soft at the same time.
Those wings are incredible, I really like the glass-like appearance and the unique design, they look quite deadly. That perspective too
The lighting is very nicely done as well, I like how the character is backlit and how the light passes through the wings. Awesome work!

IT'S FINALLY DONE!!!!!!!! I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!! and it turned out so WELL too oh my gosh!!!! the panting is just too good omg I LOVE it!!! all those gorgeous purple and white muscles and all those feathers and scales and FUR!!!!! THE FUR IS SO NICE!!!!! How did you get that cool opalescent texture on the blue bits of the wings??? was it a sneaky texture overlay that you rendered perfectly???

The fractious elements of the wing were hand painted aided by the selective wand tool! The little grainy dots here and there were from a texture I applied to the flat colors, I think they blend together alright! :>
I think that's a common feat when we find a paw or limb we really like in a painting -- OR THE RIDICULOUS FACES WE MAKE WHEN PAINTING/DRAWING EXPRESSIVE FACES. Because I know I do. >> << ... xD
