Prior to getting his ass stuck in Alola, Skye had been looking into finally starting HRT. He had been speaking to a gender clinic in Celadon City but then yanno. . .he got trapped in Alola. He had to find another clinic in Alola who'd work with the clinic in Kanto to figure out his medical information which was totally not a complete pain in the ass--but! By the time he and Ash were doing their trials on Akala Island, the clinic gave him the go-ahead to begin taking testosterone.

The comic is set a few days before Skye gets his prescription for the first time, with him giving Ash a refresher on what'll start happening to him months down the line. While Skye does love and trust Ash very much, he is too riddled with anxiety to not want explicit approval from him to make himself feel better. its da mental illness luv

Of course, Ash ain't having Skye think that he'd disapprove of his choice for a second because uhh--what kind of man does Skye think he is?! A guy who'd drop their boyfriend for something as stupid as physical changes???? aBSOLUTELY NOT!!!!

God, I've been meaning to draw this out for months and I'm glad I finally managed to get it out, even if it took almost a whole day cuz I take forever to draw comics. All for me to compare transitioning to Pokémon evolution :'U

fuckin' love ash is canonically heavily pro-body autonomy.

I had a terrible time drawing out those clasped hands. I couldn't find a good reference to help and the gheys' hand size differences were really fucking me up. Skye's hand is totally swallowed by Ash's giant yaoi hands lol I did think about ending with Skye's reaction but couldn't decide which way to go about it.
