Ash’s travels through Paldea are still very much a WIP (like, I started thinking about it yesterday and no, Skye is staying home this time he’s too busy), but I had to draw something to do with a certain reveal from the Indigo Disk.

According to new Penny dialogue from the DLC, she revealed that her dad was Peony! I have no idea where they pulled that one from, but drawing her (and giving her darker skin to match her dad more) made me realize they do have very similar eye shapes.

Funny that she went with a Star theme for her team and nickname, cuz her surname is Cosmos. I also assume she was bullied because her uncle Rose almost caused Galar to go to complete shit cuz I don’t think the game ever mentioned if she even was bullied. Starfall Street sucked lmao

So this also means Skye has another canon cousin to add to the pile.
But also—imagine looking for your boyfriend-at-the-time’s lost family branch in another region for months (and all of its drama), only to somehow become acquaintances with his other 4th cousin from that exact branch in an entirely different region. Ash just rolls with that kind of bullshit lol

The scenario I drew was made up on the spot without much thought. Ash bumps into Penny while not taking down a Team Star base, and offers to make lunch for her so they can get to know each other better. During said lunch, she gets a call from her dad and Ash recognizes Peony’s voice and woop! They’re related!
