So this is part one of the third chapter of Turian Effect: Forbidden. It alternates between taking us back fourty years in time and back again to May of 2183, the year the events of Mass Effect take place.

It tells the story of a father and his daughter and is very loosely based on the hinted conflict between Garrus and his father. As promised, said father will have a cameo role in this story. And don’t worry, his role is slightly bigger than showing up in a mug-shot on a poster.

July 2013: Edited Talus' appearance as it has since been revealed that the old man shares his son's Palaven markings (Homeworlds comic: A bullet for your sins), and edited Chellick's first name to the proper spelling (as seen here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pd77-f... )

Please note that his story is unrelated to the first and second chapters, Treason and Witness.

Yes, Talus will have a small part in Forbidden both as a young officer and as an older gentleman. I fell in love with his name some time ago and decided to use it. Also, the tattoos idea was inspired by the fantastic Invictus fanfic you pointed me to earlier last year. I wanted something not quite exactly like Garrus' but similar enough.

Thank you so much. Yes, nine pages in five weeks, that's not so bad considering I used to work at one page per week tempo before. But I'm quite tired right now, after seven weeks of hard work I'm allowing myself some few days of comic vacation. Hopefully I'll be back before you know it with some more.

Haha "Not quite born on Palaven, but close"... I love how realistic you make your story and all the details in it-Not just what's simply at plain sight but with in the characters personality and features.Amazing yet again!

Also, I believe this is the first you've drawn a Salarian up close. Very well done!

Yep, finally. I can't believe I spent three weeks or so planning these two chapters. It's good to be back in business, so to speak, again. My 'sketching finger' started itching, ha ha.

Thank you. Yes I kind of fell in love with that idea when I thought of it. And he and Sedar were just two of those twenty-five or so turians I needed to invent for this chapter. I'm glad if they seem believable as characters.

Yes it is, he he. I was rather daunted at first but I think he's at least passable for a salarian?

And you will no doubt laugh when you see what's next, because it deals with some humans .. and I can't draw humans. At all.

I think so too. The more you draw them, the better you become.

Haha I've been practicing drawing humans as well. We seem to be the hardest creatures/species to draw from any universe.XD
