The warp ship slid almost unnaturally smoothly through the void of space, her shape at a glance unmistakably imperial, but her presence barely a whisper in the solar winds of the Nestir system.

It had been a only a matter of days since the call the Word Bearer Adramelechk had set this strike force in motion, like a patient hunter who lay dormant till the right time to strike. His empty promises of power and pleasure, the true promise was another chance to bow low the 'elite' of the imperium and take from them another precious planet.

Aedan was alone in his quarters, his mind barely noticing the mundane tasks his hands completed. The soft thrum of the ship that bore him aiding the meditation he found necessary to survive these long trips, calming him and fending the blood lust that stirred when he thought of the coming battle. A veteran of millenia of fighting he deftly crafted another francesca, attaching the melta bomb strategically on the modified haft of a power axe, so graciously donated by his last foe. Testing the balance of the rigged throwing axe, a mere formality to a technique well honed. His mind drifted to memories of battles long since fought, when his legion was one and their might unstoppable.

Klaxons blared and metallic voices cut through the World Eater's reminiscing. Anger is quickly formed towards the annoyance, a gift of his lineage, a terribly short temper which he funnels so effectively in battle but oft helps little while about allies. But the annoyance quickly turns to waves of relief as he realises preparations for planetary orbit are under way, it was time for landing and Brother Radek wasted no time, his fellow brother World Eaters leaving their quarters near simultaneously. The hunger for battle was palpable, and they were relatively young, Aedan would teach them the ways of the warrior by trial by fire and lead by example. Khorne would be pleased either way.

The dreadclaw door slams to the ground and in a spilt second everything changes from the monotone of rumble and metal of drop pod to panicked cries, gunfire and the bitter cold in colours of a new world. All assualting Radek's enhanced senses, he feels alive once again!
The chaos of battle was upon him and he relished each moment, they had landed right in the centre of the imperial outpost; perfect. Aedan quickly started harnessing his jump pack which lay directly before him as light weapons fire began pattering on the structure of his transport, quickly assessing where his foes gathered densest his excitement and blood lust rumbled within him.

"Spread the glory of Khorne my brothers, cut off any cross fire or retreat and slaughter these cowards. For Khorne!" Radek barked with haste, the bezerkers spread as they dodge bullet and laser, each ensuring no imperial dog would have chance to fire or run for much longer.

Left alone in the pod Aedan makes the final connection and the jump pack roars to life, with a thought he is hurled into the air, beginning his descent upon the command bunker where already the cowards of the false emperor run for their chimera , no doubt to send for help. In one swift motion he detaches, arms and thows a francesca; the spinning weapon lodging in the neck of one of the gaurdsman as he mounts the vehicle moments before the superheated plume of melta annhilates the rear portion.

landing with a thud he thumbs Aiolos to life, rewarded with a guttural roar of mechanical death, and quickly decapitates the gaurdsman behind him with a back swing and swivel on his feet. The remaining occupants freezing in fear as they witness their assailant stride over the lifeless body.

Searching for a worthy foe, Aedan hisses his frustration as he cuts them all down mercilessly.
