Description
One of many ways I thought of that The Lorax could do to stop The Once-ler from cutting down any more tree.Lorax used the truffs and made a rope out of it.
This was before Once-ler made the promise not to cut down another tree in the movie.
Keep your comment PG please.

Awesome
It disturbs me somewhat how the Once-ler has so many fans, for an environment killer...

It surprise me as well but he did have such a good character development. Him and Lorax.

I don't know; I haven't seen the movie (and I read the book years & years ago), I just saw a bunch of fanart and whatnot.

I think he has a large fandom because he really connects with the audience. As OP said, he has fantastic character development and isn't shown as just super greedy for no reason. He has a backstory and a reason for really going chopping-crazy (I'm not going to spoil it in case you want to see it!) which the audience can identify with.
Honestly, I didn't think I was going to like it because, yeah, they seemed to make Oncie a good guy. And then you see it and you're like "Damn, I could someday be like that..." and it clicks. Connects. You identify with a character and grow to love them.

I don't know, I didn't see the Lorax movie Still, even if a villain is given a backstory, I find it hard to sympathize with them.

Some of them are easier. I mean, sometimes they seriously just relate.
We all have greed. And when you see someone who was so full of ambition become this demented, greedy person..it kind of hits you right in the feelings because you wind up thinking somewhere during there 'He didn't do it because he was greedy in the beginning. It wasn't even him who chopped down the final tree. And now he's stuck with what remains...'

I'm surprised they didn't think of this for the movie! That would've been really clever.

Like it says on the pic, To stop him from cutting down another tree.
If he's tied up he can do anything to the trees
