If Simon-Richter is anything to go by, I think it's pretty sure to say that if Sora makes it in, Roxas will be an echo character, so I couldn't not make a splash screen for him too.Related content

I'd think Riku would be the echo fighter. So that Sora can be Light and Riku Darkness.

I doubt Riku would be a good echo fighter, he's nothing like Sora, the games make that very clear...

And some people would claim that Dark Pit would be a bad echo fighter since his balance and move animation is nothing like Pit, and Smash made that very clear.

Riku can cast Dark Firaga and Dark Reflect. He wields a Keyblade like Sora, has a Dark Mode when Sora had Drives, and have even had combo attacks with Sora.

Dark Pit is literally the dark reflection of Pit, echo fighters are supposed to share a moveset with a character because they're similar in canon, Riku is way too different from Sora to justify the same moveset, while Roxas is practically the textbook definition of echo, if Riku somehow gets in I doubt he'd be considered an echo.

Riku literally shared a Keyblade with Sora, and in 3D most if not all Command Deck abilities. So how do they not share a moveset?

Having a similar weapon doesn't mean they behave the same, they don't even hold it the same way, and in 3D really the only commands they shared were the magic ones, which practically anyone can do

And the physical ones too. Quick Blitz, Collision Magnet, Timestorm... Out of the 34 total Physical Deck Commands, 13 are character exclusive. And I haven't even touched the Magic Commands yet, of which only 7 are character exclusive!
Sure, Sora and Riku hold the blades differently. But are echo fighters exactly the same as the originals with different power values? Most people agree that Marth and Lucina are the most alike out of all echo pairs, but their models have different heights and builds, meaning different animation skeletons! If they can have different animations, why not Sora and Riku?

Because making Riku an echo of Sora would be a huge disservice to his character, the both of them going through different paths is one of the biggest plot elements in both KH I and II, even CoM to an extent, to be suddenly pretty much the same character wouldn't make much sense at all, specially as a representation of the entire series, besides, if someone like freaking Isabelle can become her own character, why would Riku be an echo with all the potential he has?
