Personally, I'd love to have a Jimminy's Journal in Smash Ultimate to replace Snake Codex and Palutena Guidance. That, and Sora as a new guy would need the most help.

HMK did an interview with a Square higher up and asked him specifically about rights and Smash.
Sora owns Sora/KH OCs, but they cannot move forward with anything without Square's approval. So if Smash wanted Sora, they'd have to work with both companies to make sure it works out.
