I'm falling asleep on my feet so this will probably be quick. Next page everbody!Question one will probably be why a gap of four years. There are three reasons for this:
1. I REALLY have trouble with fanfiction that goes for the idea that Amy will just finish with Sonic and take up with Shadow on the same day. I want to believe that love means alot to Amy and she's been in love with Sonic for a good few years now. I wanted to make the point that Amy's had the chance to move on. That she's sorted through her feelings, her life and realised what it is she is and what she wants. Letting go of Sonic is a big deal for her and I don't think she could do it in one day.
2. Amy's age. Now, I don't believe that Amy is 12 as SEGA clames. For a kick off, no 12 year old has that kind of figure. However I am prepaired to believe she is a teenager though I personally think she's closer to 16 than 12. I wanted to put her at the top end of being a teenager just so I could show how much she has changed. I wanted her to look like an adult rather than the tween fantasy that SEGA uses her for these days. (Serirously, when was the last time she did anythign significant appart from get kidnapped and mistake anything else with quills for Sonic? Adventure Battle 2 is about the last time she did anything.)
3. The Winter Olympics come round once every four years. Yeah. That's the simplist reason and probably the main one for this time jump.
So yes! New design Amy! This is Amy as an adult. Or at least as close to one as a Sonic character can get. I took her old outfit and up-dated it. I really like how she looks here although I did adjust the boots.
Sonic is Sonic. I don't think I can really redesign him.

I have a few questions for you about this......
1. when four years passed and sonic was looking for Amy does that mean he hasn't seen her in four years?
2. in the past four years that has gone bye does that mean shadow and Amy were together all that time?

Thanks! I'm pleased you like her new style. I was watching old Betty Boop cartoons when I did this page and I think it might have impacted on Amy's new design a bit.
As for your questions:
1. Sonic has seen Amy over the four years. Don't forget, he spots her from the back in this and she has changed alot. For him to know it was Amy even though she's grown up and changed means he was there to see her change. Basicly, once the games were over, both sides headed home and continued with their day to day lives. For Sonic this meant saving the world and spending some time with his friends, Amy included. While this was a little less often than before (Amy had stopped chasing after him) they still kept in contact. Sonic likes Amy's spirit and fun nature even though he's not in love with her so they would meet up with their other friends and catch up.
2. Short answer is no but it's more complicated than that. Like I said in the description, Amy was taking her time not only getting over Sonic but working out what it was she actually wanted from life. Giving up on Sonic was a big deal and it still hurt even though she understood why thing had turned out this way. Getting into a relationship was a no go for Amy because she was still sorting out her own feelings after Sonic. Shadow too had some thinking to do as he now knows he's serious about Amy but has no idea HOW to approach her after the last games. They haven't been appart for four years but they haven't been boyfriend/girlfriend either. The next few pages will hopefully explain this a bit better.
