Four heroes tried to take down two villainous vixens, Iron Maiden and Vapors. Surprisingly overwhelmed they discovered superiority in numbers does not necessarily lead to victory. Sedated and unconscious the four downed supers are guarded over by their vanquishers, who seek admission into an exclusive club run by Adonis Luthor, a son of the infamous Lex Luthor.

Luthor had informed them that their initiation demanded the beatdown and capture of at least two supers. Iron Maiden and her companion Vapors now waited in the lobby of his secret lair for their claim to be processed. The lobby was non-descript. A leather sofa was the only furnishing. Unlike his father and despite his namesake, Adonis Luthor had little taste for luxury in material things.

Iron Maiden teased one of her prey, Wandera, a cousin of Wonder Woman. "Adonis is gonna be happy with you. I hear he really dislikes Amazons." She shot a glance at Steelsides, a recent apprentice of Iron Man. His armor-encased body lay comatosed in a mobile hospital bed, which Luthor's staff had thoughtfully provided. "And he really really really dislikes anyone working for Stark Industries. My membership is a shoe-in."

Vapors, leaning on the sofa's arm, seemed memerized by Steelsides. Her prey, Spiderman and Spiderwoman, the more famous by far of their prisoners, were propped up against the sofa.
