The Fat Controller's message was brief and blunt: "If you can't behave on my railway your career is... erm, on the line."

You sure it is Judy mate?
The hand rails to me agree but the water tank doesn't.

I can find my book wherever it is but am positive it's Judy, it's just that I edited out the rivets to make her more like Alfred. Bit assumptive as Bill and Ben are in-between builds but by default I lean to Alfred for modelling purposes (that and the fact that the rivets were upsetting the edit as placing large letters on a curvy saddle is a pain in the arse even when it's welded ).

Ahh.
That explains it. It is Judy the. Alfred has square hand rails.

It seems Judy came to grief while going over the point, though she is a little off the nose and the switch blades.....not quite sure how it happened exactly but the pic is from the late 30s/early 40's I believe.

Looks to me like Bill screwed himself up somehow after a prank gone wrong or a fail on his part.

Yeah, it's true that the characters where based on low height industrial tank engines in their Railway Series forms. So it makes sense that one of the engineers is diving low for some minor checks in the inspection examination department. Yeah, I'm using some Anglo-American terminology. Born in the United States which had it's steam locomotive era of "railroads" as well.

Umm it's a pic of Judy/Bill derailed over a point rather than being her/him being inspected

I wasn't sure, but at least it was a minor derailment. Probably too normal for a interesting story.

No worries. Yarp a jack or maybe even just the wood and such they've started putting down would be enough for jiggling a squat cab but still this incident is the only time i've seen one of the Par twins off the the rails, so glad someone was handy with a camera to record the rescue

Indeed, their Sudrian brothers have come off quite a lot but not the Par twins. I suppose it has to do with their squat design being so low to the rails their entire weight is on their wheels giving excellent traction and never allowing their center of gravity to be a factor for tipping.
By the looks of it a frog came loose on the points, and instead of guiding the wheels true it took them on a curve.

Very true, like it's that British steam passion which even the most trivial of locomotives would get some public attention outside the local community.
