My tools and programs are a bit limited i'm afraid. Generally I don't like using CGI era faces as like you've pointed out they lack that extra level of detail.

Ah right! I've seen plenty of Thomas stuff about but not really on the up and up with the world of Sims and Trainz so never know what is by who.

No worries. I can take a bit a constructive criticism but yeah just a misunderstanding, carry on

Wasn't this taken at some power station? I remember Hattons making a Barclay with some hazard across the front, but I can't remember where it worked.

I can't find a caption i'm afraid and there are no obvious clues within the photo. Sorry all I can tell you is that it was taken in the early 60s but if I ever come across anything similar i'll see if I can deduce the location.

I love this! The Hazard Livery always makes me chuckle.

Well, unless he had been repainted in the 'dazzle' colour scheme (which, of course, he isn't), then the poor little tank engine here will have to get used to being visible.

Exactly I had actually intended to give him a happy face to keep in line with Merlin's delusional ability but this crest fallen sample sat much better on the photo and it completely changed the scene. Sort of reminds of the sketches where a predator like a poor artic fox is spray painted pink by a misguided activist/cutsie lover in order to give the sweet innocent hares a chance.

Welp, I guess the innocent hares that are other engines now have more of a chance of seeing him and, like the hares in those sketches you mentioned, dying of laughter.

"This will teach you to play 'Grandmother's Steps'" said The Manager and the wary workmen celebrated.

"The little tank engine went red in the face with embarrassment and slunk back into his shed"

I would pay to see that as a story.

Actually a stand alone short series does have some potential vs round the world. Obviously without Thomas Thomas Thomas in the centre it could feel as disjointed as the Mountain Engines book and also suffer a lack of character attachment but on the other hand it would allow for greater story and location flexibility.

ToyFreddEnt In reply to SleeperAgent1 [2018-11-17 12:01:24 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, that's very true. We've seen Thomas shoe-horned (or 'crane-shunted' as Awdry would put it) into stories so often that it would seem weird for him not to be there somehow.

Merlin sort of. The ridiculous warning livery applied all over incase you couldn't possibly be aware of a steam engine near by tickled my fancy against Merlin's ''invisibility on" shtick.
