Remember how I vowed to not do a Hindu painting anytime soon? I Lied.I saw this [link] wonderful stock picture and the Goddess gave me inspiration. I couldn't help myself, even if I got tons of other projects which I should work on. Oh well.
I like how this turned out however. It may be my best Hindu pic yet.
So here she is: the Devi (=Goddess), in all her glory. I used more medieval references for the clothes, jewelry and weapons, based on pictures of statues which I found on the web.

(Minor edit: tweaked the color balance of gold a bit (it looked a little flat to me) and corrected some small mistakes.)

It comes with age and experience really. I've been painting digitally for about 10 years now, and I even can't look at works from 5 years ago; they're THAT bad (in execution, not in ideas).
I'd say it's about 10% talent and 90% hard work.
