An egyptian princess. 'Nefer' (or more precisely nfr, as egyptian hieroglyphs didn't show vowels), as found in Nefertiti and Nefertari, being the Ancient Egyptian word for 'beautiful'.Two versions are shown here: right the original version from 2008 and left a new version just finished. Besides the obvious flipping of the canvas (I figured it to be more expressive that way), changes include the substitution of lines with shades, addition of some details and some general color and shade balance thingies. I still think there's room for improvement, but I'm gonna leave it as it is for now.

The shading on their clothes is absolutely beautiful, especially on the torso area. It looks very real and very pretty. One thing I would like to see you work on is the way you draw hair. You're so good at shading skin, clothes, jewels, etc. The hair is falling a bit behind. Remember that hair has individual strands and isn't all one clump. I think if you work on that your art will be even better!

Je kan heel duidelijk zien nu dat je veel meer details en diepte in je werken hebt gekregen sinds 2008.
De plaatsing van schaduwen aan de linkerkant geeft het geheel zeker een meer natuurlijke look.

Zekers! Ik heb nog meer oud spul liggen dat een retouch of remake nodig heeft. In die paar jaar heb ik toch veel bijgeleerd (en dat op mijn leeftijd....)
