I've been thinking about writing a story for the Confederate Marine (C Marine), starting with recruitment and training, then moving on to a little bit in the end to show you what I think a C Marine is most useful for. I've read so many fan fictions, and that Seeds of Darkness book, that make all C Marines out to be poor brainwashed people, or that think its just a spacey version of Full Metal Jacket when it comes to it. I say nay, and I say much worse. I see men on death row, the sickest of the sick and worst of the worst, men who have at least multiple accounts murder and violent crime and one federal offence, and have lived to see what's after their arrest. In short, not very nice people.
They would be men, who after being selected, are pulled out of their D-row cells , and shipped off to some forsaken hole and pushed to the edge, not to break them down and build them back up again to make diciplined fighting men. No, you need true volenteers for that to work. Their boot camp will be the worst kind of prison, and its set up to run them through every extra bit of hell that can be mustered, to make the hard, unbreakable. Its would be set up to get them as angry, bloodthirsty, and uncontrollable as possible. The ones that can't hack it 'will' die, the rest become the hardest of the hard, men who 'will' eat other peoples guts, 'will' enjoy killing, love any excuse to kill, and act without accountability to anything. Marines that 'will' scare Marines, Royal navy, or United States. Psychopaths, finely Re-soc'ed to follow the pointing finger of their Confederate commanders without trying to bite it off. Those are the kind of Marines I see in the CMC.
Sure, I bet there is a volunteer program for Confederate armed service, its called the navy, or the Militia. The Confederate Marines in my mind are expedable men, slated to die one way or another, given the deadliest of missions, where they are to inflicted the most damage, casualties, and mayhem as possible. Where morality never needs to come into play, and a job, no matter how dirty, underhanded, or inhuman, needs to get done. That, in a bit more then a nutshell, is what I will be trying to convey if I start that story up, I've been having a bit to much time to think about it of late...
P.S. I like this Marine picture of yours as well.

hehe this is by far the longer none directly related comment I've ever gotten.
Congrats.
It sounds interesting, and it fits the SC2 teaser fine.
Thanks for the comment

Are you in a dead end job with lots of pressure?
Are you talented but no one sees why?
Are you attracted to violence?
Your gun skills scare NYC cops?
We have a job for you!
Be a Colonial Marine.
When you join and survive our rigorous training regimen, you will be a fine honed weapon of death dealing. Why? Because Space is hard of hearing and mean as a 3 legged wolverine with PMS on a bad day. Lets just say if you want to shoot things, there will be plenty for you to shoot and when the ammo runs out, smack with the butt of your rifle until you or they are all dead and thats just in the Mess Hall!
So join the Few, The Proud and the Offworld!
Great picture.
