I want to illustrate the evolution of the Vic Viper spacecraft over the years - the three main versions as seen on the cover to the new official guide, the anime version which is quite different and this new Victory Viper spaceship from the Yu-Gi-Oh card. I also have some doodles of the "crappy expendable yellow ship" from the anime.Here is an attempt at the T301 that I was entirely dissatisfied with. Drawing is okay but the placement of the various bits and bobs is completly off. The wings should slant down and I think the missiles should be wider apart. I'm not sure about the cockpit placement either. Also there needs to be more of a colour contrast between the metal surfaces and the blackish banding around the forward "prongs" and on the wings.
Not a bad drawing, but one that illustrates the problems I will need to overcome if I am to master drawing this spaceship.

How NOT to Spell Vic Viper.
Have you gotten Gradius Collection for the PSP yet? They are actually pretty faithful ports of the game. Seriously. Amazing. Gradius II GOPHER is the best though. I spell things incorrectly on purpose for cheap humor.

No, I dont have the PSP collection - I have the guide book though.
I have gradius III, IV and V PS2, Gaiden PSX and the rest on MAME. (no chance finding Gradius Deluxe Pack on ebay, cheapest price it goes for is about £80)

@Wilbury: The focus of the games is all on Vic, not its (his?) pilot. Thus, in my opinion, I'd reckon it's an AI- I mean, who on Earth would send a ship into battle without any actual shields? (I mean, it's not like Vic starts the game off with any Options automatically...) You'd kind of have to put Vic's craptastic natural shielding into perspective. Then it makes sense. At elast, to me that is. >_>;
Anyways. Fantastic Vic picture, there. I really can't see anything too wrong with it, actually. The only iffy thing I'd like to point out is the fact that one of the forked prongs looks noticeably shorter than the other. Aside from that, the picture is incredible.
Then again, I can't draw ships for crap, so, yeah... But it's glaringly obvious that your ship is Vic Viper.
How NOT to draw Vic Viper? Draw a circle-blob-thing. Draw two thick lines sticking out of it. Then, grab an orange highlighter, and add two or three Options. Label it "Vic Viper". Done.
What I just described is how NOT (under any circumstance) to draw Vic Viper. You have not done anything remotely related to what I just described. Thus, you have, at least, succeeded in drawing a Vic Viper. And it is awesome.

@Wilbury: I think Vic is the star, not its (his?) pilot... I'd actually expect to learn that it operated itself via AI computer. (Besides, who would be stupid enough to send a manned warship out into space without any Options in the first place?! Everyone knows about Vic's... er... "shields".)
In any case, that's an awesome Vic Viper, even though you say it's horrible.
The only thing I can clearly spot is that one of the twin prongs is a little iffy-looking; it looks kind of short. But, perhaps that's just the perspective. Meh.
I'd never be able to draw a ship that well in the first place, anyways.

actually,the way THAT Vic Viper looks is the way I saw it in Gradius IV at the option->Sound Test Screen...I like the Stream Lined Look...too bad YGO believes the VV to be expendable
