One of those photographic highs and then there are the lows such as I am experiencing at the moment: on holiday in Spain .... guess who left the camera battery charger back in the UK!!

Can you buy one, or buy a new battery? You can't miss out on taking photos on vacation!

Fortunately I have a spare which (I hope) is fully charged but that has to last for another 11 days. I could buy a new one but I believe they have to be charged up before use. π I may be able to find a new charger but again not quite so straightforward: I could only use it here, we have different plugs in UK! I think I'm just going to have to be more selective about the shots I take!

Oh that is bad news, who wants to have to be too selective when taking photos on vacation! Β
What if you look to find a camera store and see if they can sell you a charged battery. I am sure they should have battery chargers in the store and possibly a demo model. If you explain the situation maybe they will be willing to help you out, it is worth a try! Good luck and happy vacation!

Fortunately the spare battery lasted really well and with a little more care I managed to get through the holiday without the battery giving out on me! The good news is, we're going back to the same place in September so anything I may have missed this time I will hopefully catch then. Guess what I'll pack first!!

I'm sure there must be great stories, some of them, I imagine, rather gruesome!!

The Algarve light was/is a bit special, especially in the early evening: this was taken around 7.30 in the evening. Thanks so much for commenting.

Thank you. I must admit, I hadn't really noticed the clouds when I took the photo so was really pleased when I downloaded it and noticed the clouds behind the fort.Β

Thanks for your lovely comment. So pleased you like it and that it evokes memories of home. Not sure of the origin of these forts but, as you say, possibly from Spain. I think this one may have been built to keep the Spanish out!! Β

Oh we like the same places I see !
I was there last June, and we spent most of our time on the fantastic beaches (which were quite deserted...)

We probably passed each other in the street: we too were there last June!! We only went to two or three beaches but, I agree they were quite deserted. One fantastic one was up on the west coast, which involved a climb down the cliffs and then a wade through waist deep water to get to the beach. Think it was called Bordeira, truly wonderful, with an old surfers hut on it (which has now, apparently been replaced with a totally new build).

Ahah funny : I noticed a lot of English people in this area, indeed !!!
On my side; from Faro to Odeceixe I never bathed two times in the same beach !
