Thank you Anna. I have to confess this is one of my favourites. Maybe because it is one of my favourite places.

Pleased you think so; this is one of my favourite places in the whole of the U.K. The best bit is that it looks different on every visit. We were there just 3 days ago, again ... very different from our last visit in October.

What you say is very true as it is amazing how a scene can be altered so much just by the sun
moving across the sky and changing the angle of light. Β

haha, I love the title and the light in the distance. It looks a lot like Dartmoor

Thanks - yes I guess all the Moors have similarities. I have had the odd walk on Dartmoor but am far better acquainted with the N Yorkshire Moors. Β

They do indeed. I love the variety of all of our National Parks - we are so lucky to have such areas.

What a beautiful landscape! With sheep of course
This is so lovely, I would immediately like to walk over these meadows!

Haha, I'll do - but don't fear, I'm afraid of flying, so I'll never come too close to you!Β Β Β

You don't HAVE to fly! Β

OK, I could take the train - but passing that beastly tube under your ChannelΒ is even worse than flying!!! Β

The Tunnel isn't so bad. We have used it several times now. The first time I was terrified but I got used to it and it's better than being on a Channel ferry in a storm!!

Oh-oh! So there is no way for me to Great Britain! I have to stay on the continent Β .Β I always thought the ferries to be my only chance to see your beautiful land. How much time takes the crossing?

smallsofthamish In reply to LilliTheSquirrel [2014-11-30 18:28:05 +0000 UTC]
I think the fastest is Calais-Dover - 90 minutes. That compares to 35 minutes in the Tunnel. Be brave my friend!!
