This is so fabulous! I can just see an old witch coming out or the poor but beautiful golden haired farmer's daughter looking for her prince!

Great, as long as the two characters do NOT meet up! Glad you think it’s fabulous. May the farmer’s daughter meet her prince!Β  Β

And may the prince ride a white horse and have a great castle and be very, very rich! Β

Yes, modern architecture is spectacular and has its place but, there's just that certain something about old buildings: history!!Β

Not sure how old this house is but, if you check out my photo "Jewel of Aveyron" the castle on the hill, in the same village was built in 1253!!Β Β

I always like observing architecture from that time. Small pieces of history still around today!Β Β

I feel like I could live here. And I'm glad you put that lamp post in the shot. I love its design!

Who would not want to live there: it is idyllic. I actually had another photo of the house which showed more of the lamp post but i opted for this one as it showed more of the curved wall of the house. I almost regret that choice now.Β  Β

It is indeed a beautiful village and I imagine that at this time of year, when most of the tourists have left, it is incredibly peaceful! Thanks for commenting. Not sure where to leave thanks on your profile page so I will thank you here for faving also. Β

It was a lovely village: so peaceful with a large number of old houses not to mention a 13th century castle.

Looking at this photo makes me wonder what it would be like to live there for a while.

It did appear to be the perfect place to live. However, we visited in late September when there were still quite a few tourists around but not intrusively so but, I imagine that in the height of the season the number of tourists could be quite irritating for the residents. Equally, winter months could be quite lonely as population numbers plummet. I have done a bit of googling and many of the houses here are second homes, owned mostly by Brits, Canadians, Dutch and the Northern French. Maybe the long term residents love it when everyone disappears back to whence they came and they are left alone to enjoy their peace!! Certainly worth the experiment of experiencing it for a while, I think.

The village seemed peaceful even on a hot summer's day with loads of tourists around. So now, it would be perfect. Just think of spending Christmas behind that wonderful thick wall and around a roaring log fire; you could shut yourself right away from the rest of the world. Β Β
