Description
My DOOM collection, which consists of the custom PlayStation edition of DOOM, DOOM for the Gameboy Advance, the instruction manual for GBA DOOM, and DOOM 3 BFG Edition for my new Xbox 360. I've never played DOOM 3 until now, and so far I'm enjoying it. It is pretty different from DOOM and DOOM II, but what do you expect? It was made ten plus years after the original DOOM! The autosaves in DOOM 3 BFG Edition are annoying though. They pop up at totally random times and catch me off guard like a nasty imp. Oh well. And for whatever reason you can't acess DOOM and DOOM II while DOOM 3 BFG is installed on your HDD. Why? I don't know. It bugs me, but not too much since I already have both games. DOOM for the PSX includes most of Ultimate DOOM and DOOM II, which is awesome, even though the music and most sound effects have been completly changed. Overall, DOOM is a great gaming series. Now go out there and kill some demons marine!DOOM, DOOM II, and DOOM 3 (c) id Software

Agreed. Call of Duty and all of those other "FPSs" owe their existance to DOOM!

Playing Doom on any platform other than PC is losing about 60% of fun. With all the mods and maps and ports.

To each their own. I did have DOOM II on our old PC but we got rid of it a while back.

I remember playing the SNES port of the game.

Is sure is. So you've played the SNES port? Wow! How was it?

Well, it is closely resembled to it's original PC game, but the graphics aren't as good.
The Sega 32X port does have much better-looking graphics, but the sound quality is awful and half of the levels have been taken out. :/

Yeah. I've heard that. The 32X port came off of the Jaguar port, and the SNES port was made completly from scratch if I remember right. The GBA and PSX ports also came off the Jaguar port. I think of the GBA port as a cross between the sound and music of the SNES port and the graphics of the 32X port.

The Jaguar port is the only home console port where you can have access to all your weapons and it was without a doubt, the best port. But the only con is that, there's a lack of a soundtrack during the gameplay.

What do you mean, numbered weapon selection? Because as far as I know , the only version that doesn't have all the weapons without cheating is the 32x as it's missing the BFG in the levels. Also, the PSX port destroys the Jaguar Port in pretty much every way. Hell, even the GBA port beats it in every way but framerate. PSX Doom is my definitive way to play Doom, even though Doom is awesome on pretty much anything.......except 32x, everything about that port just sucks the big one. But no matter your preference, Doom is still the best!

Yeah. I looked up gameplay of the various ports and was suprised to learn that the Jag port had no soundtrack!
