Here is an updated picture of my Classic Spyro collection. This is pretty much the same as my older picture but with two new items, the Spyro Game Informer and my new copy of Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly, which came with the promotional soundtrack!
I beat it several weeks ago and I enjoyed it but I have to admit that it was a very weak game. It was short, glitchy, there were problems with the frame rate, there was a lack of a real story, and no bosses! If they had spent more time on the game, it probably would have been great! I did still enjoy it and the music, once again done by Stewart Copeland, was amazing. I sort of think of Enter the Dragonfly as the Spyro series version of Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness. Both games were the first release on a next-gen console for the series, both games were rushed out, both had glitches and frame rate issues, and both were received with mixed reviews. But I still like both games, even with their problems!

I love all these Spyro games except Enter the Dragonfly since you know being rushed in the making of it. A lot of people hate Heros tail as well for some odd reason but i loved it when it first came out!Β

Yeah. Enter the Dragonfly is meh for me. The only good things it has going for it is the music and Spyro's model. That's about it. I really like A Hero's Tail too. I wished they had continued in that style.

I own four of these gamesΒ except I have Normal Version of Spyro 3, Greatest Hits of Spyro 4, The first two games on PSN. I also had Spyro Orange but it got stolen by some greedy person while there was a party along with Crash Purple, Super Mario Advance, and the GBA itself! and I didn't find out until some days later...):

I have every single classic spyro game. I beat all EXCEPT Shadow legacy... I gave up with it...

Enter the Dragonfly was originally planed to be a lot better than it was, 120 dragonflies, over 25 levels, fast load times, and 60 FPS. Universal, in their greed, decided that they needed the game ready for a xmas release after already giving a different production schedule to the developer, supposedly cutting 5 months out of the production time! As a result a lot of content got cut and, in the end, the developer actually went out of business. I hate corporate greed.

In my opinion it's a pretty cool game. You get to use magic and travel in and out of a dimension known as the "Shadow Realm."

Nice! I'm a huge fan of the classic trilogy, it's basically what got me into gaming. Year of the dragon is my favorite, insomniac left the series on a high note. Though with that being said, enter the dragonfly to me is sort of the best of the "worst" side as I really didn't like any of the other games after it. Enter the dragonfly still had the goals and some touches that made the original spyro amazing, not to mention it updated spyro's design perfectly onto the PS2 but as you said it had problems that kept it back a bit.

Yeah. Funny you should mention that because when I first played the game itselfΒ and saw Spyro's in-game design, I really liked it. That is how Spyro should look on the PS2, although I do like his design in A Hero's Tail too. Spyro 2 is my favorite.

It is from September of 1998 and has a feature story on the first Spyro game. I have pictures of the inside pages in my gallery if you want to see them.

I've never been a Crash fan but I have played the demos on the Spyro games. Crash's last game was in, like, 2007 or something, right?

Yeah. There are actually four GBA Spyro games. Season of Flame, Season of Ice, Attack of the Rynocs, and Spyro Orange.
