Very well written code... Only thing i can suggest is that i noticed that all boxes would stop at approximately the same time... if deceleration of the boxes is handled independently, then it would be more random... but I have no idea what that would do for system resources or lag time... But thoroughly impressed.

Appears to be quite random. Which is good! I clicked multiple times in the same spot and got different output.
Good job.

code suggestion:
if each box handles its own movement after the click, which is the most efficient way (for loops slow evertything down) , you can add an if statement at the end which checks if the box has come to rest, and then remove the onEnterFrame event.
this keep the firing code to a minimum, and only cause speed issues if the user clicks a lot and quickly.

Suggestion:
User clicks on the stage for a random distribution and within a time period the user has to click in every box in some order (ascendent for exemple).
Take care!

very funny, though when you click it very fast, it laggs like hell

Damnit, you get 28 faves already, on this?
Haha, anyways it's good for a test, I clicked a lot and I think I may have broken something...

Oh, and another thing. From the speed it's going at it looks like you're still simulating the boxes even after they've stopped moving and calculating. Maybe try something like a removeListener or a delete onEnterFrame?

smashmethod In reply to Niallmeister [2009-03-11 15:12:16 +0000 UTC]
There are no listeners or onEnterFrames, once the box stops moving, it isn't touched in the code anywhere.

That's odd, it seems to perform extremely slowly for what it's doing then.

That's a great assessment considering you have no idea what it's doing. Though I will concede that you seem oddly offended by this stupid test getting feedback from others, and I'm not quite sure why.

Seems so simple, yet oh so brilliant... and rather addicting, too... Especially if you have this OCD thing where you feel you absolutely HAVE to fill in every space with a box.
Bahahaha, fun stuff. I'm enjoying it thoroughly.

"It might get slow if you click too many times. "
Soon as I read that, I went click crazy lol

Nice job!
I like how each of the tabs displays the changing X, Y; very crafty!
I had the screen completely covered it little numerical boxes - it was great.
Which ver are you using? I'm running CS3 Pro, but haven't had the time to get back to mucking about with it.

cool, it would also look awesome with colors, but since they're random boxes it would be a pain to do it.

Actually, it had colors that it pulled from an array, but I thought it looked better in black and white.
Maybe I'll post a colored idea later.
