Description
This is what the locket looks like full opened. Again, sterling silver outer, copper pages, fine silver centerball chain. The pages say, from front to back, Frustration, Anger, Lonely, Pain, Hate, Self-Destruction. The idea behind the piece is how you present a happy face to the world while holding "negative" emotions inside. Photos of the individual pages can be found in my Scraps area.
Unfortunately, I didn't realize how much of the bottom of the pages would be covered up since I'd never made a mechanism like that before so some of them are hard to see- the Lonely page especially.

This is SO wonderful! I love the interesting way it unfolds and the way it holds itself together. It's very beautiful indeed. And the chain is awesome as well. Kudos!!!
Do you know where to get that PNP Blue paper? The only place I knew of in Portland, Or. went out of buisness and I would like to get ahold of some more at some point.

I don't know where to get it yet-- I'm looking into it. I suspect I'll have to get it mail order. The likelyhood of it being available anywhere in Erie is pretty slim.
Thanks for the comments.

No problem, it's the least I can do for such a nice peace of work.
And if you do find an outlet for that PNP, let me know; I would appriciate it, thanks.

This is a very original design, might do well in a jewelry competition. I'm loving the chain, too.
How was the etching accomplished?

Acid. Combination of xerox transfer & asphaltium that I brushed on for resists. I can't remember which acids I used for which metals at the moment. I laid out all the text in Adobe InDesign. I'd done them in Photoshop first but the lettering looked fuzzy when I printed them. Fuzzy type is bad.
I think I want to try PNP paper (think that's what it's called) next time I try something like this. It's supposed to transfer better than the xerox transparencies.
