Biography:
Almost always regarded as a well kept secret, Caspien's early life is unknown to pretty much everyone except for himself as he does not like to talk about it. He was born into a substantially large pride in Egypt, far north from the Utatu region. His father Nero ruled the pride with an iron fist, being very strict and very violent, treating his population of females as though they were garbage. He hit, he kicked, he clawed and screamed, and what was most upsetting was he took everything away from those lionesses, including their ability to choose the father of their cubs. Nero was the only male allowed in the pride, all of his male offspring were either slaughtered or chased away once they were weaned, he had no tolerance for males in his pride, which was more of a harem as he collected females as though they were objects.

Caspian was born to one of these females, a beautiful young thing who'd been pregnant before but only had miscarriages. She was set to be killed by Nero if she could not reproduce, that was the only thing he seemed to care about, so Caspien's birth actually saved her life, and she therefore loved him more than anything in the world. But he was male and Nero was still strict about the gender of his pridemates. Misae had to lie to him and told him that “Cassie” was female. Fortunate for him, Caspien does have more feminine traits than your average male, his mom's exotic appearance making up most of his features- he looked just like her. So the stupid Nero believed her and allowed the cub to grow into adolescence which is when his mane started to come in. At first, Nero didn't seem to notice or care, but when his voice dropped and hair appeared on his chin, Nero finally took a minute to examine the cub and surprise, he was male. Nero was furious about being lied to. He allowed Caspien and his young brothers to stay in the pride until they were old enough to fend for themselves, but he absolutely mauled and killed their mother, unable to accept that she had lied.

Caspien was always a Mama's Boy so he did everything that he could to save not just his mother but his two month old baby sister, who was caught in the crossfire, but in the end, he could only save one. He took his young sister and fled, leaving his mom to bleed out and die in a cold and dark cave. His brothers did not go with him. They argued that the wastelands was not a good place to raise a young cub, that she'd need food and shelter and such, things that they already had in the pride. So Caspien's brothers made a plan to overthrow their father together. They were too young to take him down alone but together, in a united front, they were confident that they could take him down. But Caspien refused to help. He may have been a monster and may have killed their mother in an awful way, but he was a strong and just leader and Caspien just did not feel like he had the right to end the male's life. That was not a decision for him to make. So he left them to it, all three of his brothers going on to attack their father only to fail and be killed by him. But, before he died, Blake, the youngest of the group, blamed the attack on Caspien, claiming it was his idea and telling Nero where his estranged son was hiding out in the wastelands.

It took Nero some time to find the cleverly hidden Caspien, but sure enough, he stumbled upon a small den out in the wastelands among a bunch of termite mounds. Jinny, his daughter, the young cub Caspien had run off with, was a yearling at this point and was outside practicing her stalking skills while her brother was off finding them some food. When she saw Nero, she did not recognize him and thought he was just a charming rogue. But when Caspien returned, he recognized his father immediately, demanding he step away from his sister. But Nero refused, remarking on the way that Caspien moved, the way that he walked, the fact that he was clumsy and weak, revealing that Misae was actually his daughter, whom he had raped to get cubs from just like every other female in the pride. He claimed that that was all females were good for and, as Caspien watched, he forced Jinny into a provocative pose, ready to take her. Caspien immediately jumped to her defense but this was foolish of him as his father was right- he did not ever seem to have good footing and his back legs were always so weak, he could not run as fast as he needed to. Instead, his father subdued him easily, cracking his head on a rock which temporarily paralyzed him, allowing him to watch his father rape and then maim his baby sister, leaving her to bleed out on the ground. Caspien was able to reach a paw out to her, and she too reached for him, but he blacked out before they could touch one last time and in the end she died from her injuries.

Caspien was a shell of himself after that. He wandered blindly, he spent some time being angry, wanting his father dead. But in the end, his childhood of being told he was worthless and pathetic and weak and just all of that kept him stun locked. He wanted his father to pay but knew he'd just end up like his brothers probably, that he would almost certainly be biting off more than he could chew to confront the large male. So he didn't and instead simply buried his baby sister and moved on, south, into a mountain pass, though there into a swamp. He was found by some members of the Foxfire pride and though they initially had no qualms about allowing him to join the pride, the spirits that lived in that swamp had other ideas. They made it very clear that Caspien was not welcome, that he was some kind of dark creature who had abandoned his family and has done and seen things that would endanger the pride so ultimately, the spirits won and he was chased further south into the Firelands. Tired, weak and utterly exhausted, he collapsed on the hard hot rocks and just waited for the sun and buzzards to claim him.

But that was when he met Morbius. He was given some food and some water, taking some time to recover physically from his long journey. But with few lionesses available at the time, Morbius was the one who saw to the interloper, even though his title as king made it something of a misappropriation. He should have just ordered one of the younglings to do it. But he did not, he did it all personally, interviewing the new lion and trying to figure out whether or not he was worth keeping. Caspien, being ever so grateful for the king's kindness and personal conviction toward his health, decided that he was going to do anything that he needed to in order to pay the king back for his time and effort. He just got into the habit of helping Morbius out. From the minute he was strong enough to walk again, he did everything that he could for the king, from delivering messages to organizing den construction, he talked to the prey animals and helped Morbius come up with a proper schedule in regards of who to hunt and when and to what degree. He's always been super intelligent and diplomatic so he was useful in this way. He sort of inherited the rank of Advisor because of this, it was never formally given to him, he just saw that the king needed help and so he slotted right on in there. He was accepted into the pride without needing to complete a trial, he just fit like a missing puzzle piece and no one had a problem with it. He was kind and trustworthy and had a good head on his shoulders. He does have a scar on his right flank that he refuses to talk about, but otherwise he's an absolute gem and pretty much everyone who meets him seems to like him so the trial just seemed unnecessary.

He stumbled a little bit when he found out about Morbius' need to sacrifice cubs but his attempts to disconnect from his past means that he deliberately avoids children, turning a blind eye to the sacrifices, even helping round up the children that needed to die. He gets this dead look in his eye while he does it but, his brain just cannot comprehend children anymore so he does the job regardless, something that Morbius really really REALLY appreciates.

Voice Actor is Erik Todd Dellums as Nasus from the game League of Legends. It's deep and melodic, soothing and smooth. It's one of his most identifying features.
Though he does not know the exact name or nature of it, Caspien has a genetic condition called Huntington's Disease that affects his central nervous system and, mainly, the glands at the center of his brain. Though he was born with it, it seems to be progressive. When he was a cub, he had almost no signs of the condition other than taking a little longer than other cubs to learn to hit milestones such as walking and talking. Otherwise, he was a normal cub. But now that he is older, the disease is starting to show, specifically in his back legs. He has trouble feeling his feet and his back legs in their entirety, suggesting that there is some deformation in his spinal cord as well, which has made his hind legs weak and makes it difficult for him to keep his balance. Having lived with it his entire life, he does not think much of it. Sure he cannot run as far or jump as high as other lions but he has no trouble walking, he just wobbles while he does it and needs to take his time going from place to place to avoid falling. Despite this, others often call him 'clumsy' as few people know about his past and the fact that he was born out of incest, he does not like to draw attention to this weakness and will often go along with the assertion that he is just clumsy. He, however, knows that he has a condition and that it's getting worse over time, so he is fairly certain that it will kill him prematurely but he has not told anyone this yet and instead simply brushes it off in conversation on an every day basis. He does not want to be treated like a cripple so he works hard to do what he can for the pride. Obviously, because of the severe motor weaknesses and his inability to really run at any decent speed means that he is useless as a hunter. He tries though, but usually he's the one who plans out the hunts, instead of being one of the participants. He does not mind this. What he lacks in physical ability, he makes up for with his intellect.

He has heterochromia, the eye covered by the hair on the right side of his face is green while his visible eye is red. He does not hide his green eye on purpose, his hair just happens to cover it, he does not think anything of it really.
