Important things not included in the ref:

- His name, Kituko, means "freak" in Swahili, however, when asked what his name means, he often lies about it, saying it means "great warrior" or "the most handsome" and stuff like that. Though it is not usually shortened, he's been called "Kit" in the past. He often makes up pet names for his Pridemates, as he is a cheeky bastard like that, so some of his pridemates fire nicknames back at him. His favorite is "Papi", and it's a common nickname for him, used mostly by the cubs in the pride but also some of the... 'interested' females, let's say. Lou and Thamani's cubs call him Papi. But he's also been 'Slick', 'Squishy', 'Romeo', 'Pooh Bear or Papa Bear', and 'Pookie', though his fellow member of the Lion Guard Thamani is the only one allowed to call him Pookie. And she does, especially when teasing him, he's not a fan of that one, so he gets her back by calling her "Cuddlefish". Which is hella embarassing.

- Though they have cute nicknames for each other, Kituko and Thamani get along like oil and water. Both being part of the Lion Guard (Bravest and Keenest of Sight respectively) means they spend a good amount of time in each other's presence and they are constantly arguing and having a go at each other. They are like a married couple and, though its frequency is annoying, their exchanges are actually kind of hilarious and the rest of the guard often has a good laugh about it before Kip finally tells everyone to shut up and focus on the mission. When actively working as the Lion Guard of the Palelands, Kituko is focused and dedicated, his focus narrowing down to the task at hand. But in times of peace, he is almost a bully to Thamani, the way that he teases her about being the only female on the guard. The others often have to step in and split them up before it becomes a fight. But Kituko means no harm, he's just your typical confident young male who knew nothing but bullying and hatred his whole life, he does not know how to act, how to be a friend, beyond that bullying experience. In a fight though, he would absolutely have Thamani's back and this becomes very apparent later in the story.

- Personality-wise, Kituko is a quiet and somewhat stoic piece of shit. He's very intelligent, a strategist, and while he generally likes to have a plan when going into a new situation, he has no problems acting on impulse either. He's extremely self absorbed and full of it, so he has nothing but faith and confidence in himself and the decisions he makes. That's what makes him the bravest of the Lion Guard- he is so over-confident that he does not even think about the concept of being hurt or making a mistake. As long as you know what you are doing, (and he certainly thinks that he does) then you have nothing to fear. So he is brave in a pig-headed way rather than being loud or rambunctious. He's actually the opposite and is almost considered lazy because he is so chill and relaxed all of the time. He's got a great sense of humor and always has much to say in an argument, he will fight to the death for what he believes in. He is a loyal pride member as well, always looking for ways to keep the peace. This affects his relationship with Thamani as, over time, he begins to apply that belief of 'live and let live' to her and her family. He still teases her a lot, he kind of shits on everyone in some way or another. But it's all innocent fun by then, not nearly as offensive and crude as before.

- Kituko was born in the Highlands, far north of the Palelands. The highlands are notorious for the presence of snow and cold temperatures, and as such, Kituko is very heat intolerant. He overheats very quickly and suffers a lot when it is hot. However, when it's cold, even if a blizzard were to hit central Africa right this very second, he'd totally fine and comfortable.

- Besides the snow, Kituko's cubhood was painful. Even though he was born into a well-established pride, there was one tiny problem with him- he is a hybrid. Specifically, he is a Leopon, his lioness mother was assaulted by a male leopard. Though the leopard was then chased away, the damage was done and the lioness had a total of three cubs, Kituko being the middle child of the three. His older sister Eru and his younger but much larger brother Eranko shared a den with him and his mother and her pride until they came of age. Eranko in particular was chased from the lands early as his massive size made him a threat to the alpha. Kituko tried to convince Eru to come with him and their brother out into the farlands, to keep the three of them together, but all three of them had the worst kind of cubhood. They were not very close to each other. If anything, they hated each other, for mostly petty reasons, really the three of them were just hurting a lot and did not know how to vent it so it came out as anger so the siblings used to fight a lot. But as they grew older Eranko and Kituko were permanently chased from the pride. Eru opted to stay behind.

- Though Kituko was separated from him by a flash flood, Eranko and Eru both are still alive. Eranko managed to save himself from drowning and Eru lived in the pride just long enough for them to become super hostile because she is a hybrid like her brothers. She eventually has a single cub, which shocks everyone because generally hybrids are sterile. But the cub was also a hybrid and, fed up with feeding these freaks of nature, the alpha and his most powerful subjects kicked her and her cub out, condemning them to a life in the far lands. Kituko does not know any of this. (If you'd like to design and play one of Kituko's siblings just hit me up)

- When wandering the far lands in search of his brother, Kituko, hot and starving, noticed the shape of a lion on top of a large almost mountainous hill. The figure paused, as though watching him before taking off suddenly and, somewhat delirius, Kituko decides to follow it. He clumsily climbed the jagged terrain, falling into mountain passes, slipping down loose rocks, but he wanted to follow that shadow, was determined to, half expecting it to be his brother Eranko. It was not. Obviously, this terrain he navigated was the edge of the crater where the Palefall Pride lived, so once he was down the other side and inside the crater proper, a bunch of warriors from the pride were there to greet him. He expected to be chased away and was prepared to leave, only asking for some water before he left. But he was told that he was not going anywhere and they lead him to the pride's main den to meet King Kayode, who was impressed that he was able to navigate the land's rough terrain, especially considering he was weak and starving. It was decided that he could stay, especially because during the walk where he was escorted by guards, some of the pride members fell into a sink hole that opened up suddenly. Kituko was able to rescue them all from the cliff edges that they clung to. He was strong and powerful and proved to be the bravest lion Kai had ever seen, having shown no hesitation before jumping down into such a large sink hole to save the others. Kai insisted that Kipaji include the new pridemember in the Lion Guard. Kip did not want to do this- he did not know Kituko at all and worried about lies and deceit but commanded by his king, he could not disobey. So Kituko is now the Bravest of the Lion Guard.

- Again, just to establish a timeline, Kituko is the same age as Kayode and Kipaji. When he first comes across the Palefall Pride, he is probably a little younger, an older teenager or very young adult. But he reaches maturity in less than a year, which is the time it takes for the Lion Guard to establish itself, so by the time anything really significant happens, Kituko is an adult alongside Kai, Kip, Lou, Dabu, Thamani, Zuva, Joka, Zenido, and Azima, among others.

- As a cub, Kituko was bullied mercilessly for being a hybrid. His own mother named him 'freak' and she hated him with a passion, often leaving him without food and yelling at him for crying too much. He learned to hide his emotions and to be a good follower, however no one can realistically live like that, keeping it all inside as he does. So he gets into the habit of confiding in Thamani whom he feels understands him better than anyone else as he frequently bullies her and she bounces back from it no problem. He cannot figure out how to do that. When he's alone, his thoughts absolutely tear into him like claws, so he is not often alone, instead inviting himself to go on patrols or hunts or whatever, even though he does not usually participate. He just likes to have company is all, something distracting from the fact that he's a piece of shit. Oh he knows he's a piece of shit, he just... doesn't know what to do about it. His bravado and his self confidence and his arrogance are a wall he's put up to hide the fact that he is sad, he does feel out of place and unloved, and that no one would miss him if he disappeared. Fortunatel Thamani also has a massive mental breakdown and Kituko learns to vent his own feelings as he talks her and tries to keep her spirits up. Though they argue night and day, Thamani and Kituko are good friends. They understand each other better than anyone ever will.

- As an adult, Kituko is an average sized lion, so he is noticeably smaller than Kuba or Dabu. Though short-legged, he can move decently fast in short bursts, what he lacks in stamina he makes up for in stopping power, he has a nasty right hook. But he can only last in a fight for a short while before he tires out. This is why he does not hunt really, he does not have the stamina for it. Also his light colors and bright white mane give him away when he's trying to stalk, and he has no patience and therefore tends to ruin the hunt by setting off the ambush too early. So he either hunts small creatures by himself now, or just waits for the females to bring him some food.

- Though popular with the ladies, he does not appear to be interested in any of them. He does like sex and believes that he is infertile so he can do it whenever and wherever he wants to with no fear, so he does enjoy that. But other than having sex with them, he has very little interest in lionesses that come his way. Lionesses or other lions. There's some chance that he is just Aromantic and therefore only has platonic and sexual relationships with others, nothing romantic. No one is really sure why that might be.

- He has white but faded whiskers and white claws. Also he has rows of whisker spots, three rows to be exact, a feature that he inherited from his father. His pawpads are pink spotted using the same swatches as his nose.

- His original design was much more brown, almost tawny, but I accidentally turned on a filter while I was coloring and I liked it so much that I kept it. So he's more grayish now with red eyes instead of purple. I still give all of the credit for this beautiful design to xUndergroundAdopts as all I did was mess with the saturation. Otherwise, the design is just what it said on the tin. A lovely design indeed. I adopted him here .

Gen and I decided to call this story/universe/setting 'Lost and Found' with each generation being its own story. So to keep things reasonable to understand, Kuba and Kivuli and the first members of the pride are Gen 1, which we call Dawn. Dusk is Gen 2, including all of the lions who were cubs in Gen 1 so that's Kipaji and Dabu and Lou and Thamani and so on. Gen 3 is Dark, and so far that only includes Azima's daughter Sauda. So far I have not designed many characters for Gen 3. So I'm going to label each of these characters based on what stage of the story they belong to, with Dusk being the main story. A lot of stuff happens in Dusk.

Anyway TL;DR, this is Lost and Found character Kituko. He appears in Dusk and is not present in Dawn but may be present in Dark.
