!!! [link] Here's a quick process images stream that I’ve managed in a hurry...
The tools that were mostly in use:
Gradient fills and patterns – usualy as multiple fillings with various transparencies, Gradient mesh, pen tool, blend, blur, outer-glow, transparency-masks.
Two and a half days work.

What I appreciate about this is the fact that someone went to the trouble of making a photo-realistic vector and it turned out marvelous! To think this can be scaled indefinitely brings new hope for the future for me, well exceeding 1080p HD into the world of vector vision.
