to all of the people reacting harshly to this: you can't expect someone to change their style in a matter of days. It might take some time to get out of the habit of drawing in her old style.

This is insanely cute! Great character with a lovely color scheme and you did a wonderful job on drawing her. The shading has a very interesting style, which I REALLY like and expression is adorable too. Great work!
And about that copying thing. Maybe you do draw a lot of inspiration from said artist (don't feel like repeating everyone aaah), but that will only help you develop more an more of your unique style. Even if some don't find it unique yet- it will be, if it isn't already.
I can understand how you feel. I know the feeling of being careful with everything you draw, paying close attention to not making it look like someone else's art. Don't get me wrong- I never actually copied anyone's art, but there were times when I found artists with great styles, which I knew would influence my own art. But- I didn't let them. I was being so stubborn and focused definitely not making anything look similar in any way, that I was totally blocked in developing an own style.
What I'm trying to say is- don't do that. Look at other people's art, observe and admire and let it - maybe even not knowingly- influence you.
But most important of all: Use your imagination. Be creative. You have the ultimate power of being able to do anything you want with your art. Think about that and experiment as much as even possible. Make art.

People can't just suddenly assume you're copying Griffsnuff. I mean, I saw the comments on here about the background. That's crazy that somebody thought you copied that. Griffsnuff and you both have a ton of art on here, so there is a chance that some will look similar. This looks great(: I love the coloring and it's just adorable c: It was fine with the background, too. The drawing didn't even look similar ^~^

Yeah griffsnuff is a role model for a TON of people on deviantart! i mean, so what if she thinks that griffsnuff has good ideas and might do something similar! Oh my god! Shoot her! -_- im kidding. But if somebody does the same color pattern as snuffen, for example, it doesnt mean that they are copying ALL of their art! for pete sake people... Smoshen i love your art! Keep it up! i do agree that the way some people react is insane. if you look at the next page of comments, i DID say the background and some of the lines looked a bit like a series of pictures =griffsnuff drew. nothing else. other than that i don't believe that her style looks like =griffsnuff , maybe just a little bit but so do the works of many many other artists like =Magicpawed and the others in that... err, "section" of dA.
my main concern was the fact that very soon after =MizAmy made that whole hype about *Smoshen copying =griffsnuff , *Smoshen uploads a picture with components quite like some pictures that =griffsnuff had uploaded the day before :I
it's true, people flip a shit about every little thing like "MAGICPAWED STOLD GRIFFSNUFF'Z STYL" (saw that on Artist Confessions) or "Smoshen copies griffsnuff oh noes"- when they tend to forget that there are hundreds of people on dA who are stealing the art itself and not getting banned. jeebus.

Just wanted to say, Smosh, that just because you put boxes in the background doesn't mean you are copying. Like someone above said, I don't think Griffsnuff owns boxes - there are so many people who use that kind of background. Just because you put a few boxes in the background doesn't immediately give people the right to go, "OMGZ SMOSHEN IS STEALINGGG BACKGROUNDS NOWZ." I realize that you agree with what the one person said about your 'copying' things, but that doesn't give people the right to come on and yell at you about it >.>

Style is something that is very hard to change because it becomes part of the Artist's conscious and unconscious habit to draw, so I say take your time. People shouldn't expect you to gain a total new style in just one single night

Do what makes you happy. if you are happy with your art style then do it. if you are unhappy because you feel like your art style is copying somebody elses, then try finding a different way to make you happy. either way, don't listen to other people. just do things for your own benefit. they don't matter. they don't even know you. and you don't know them. your happiness has nothing to do with them. your art is beautiful and i think it suits your adorable, loving personality.

it makes me sad that people still complain about your new style :< It looks NOTHING like griffsnuff's. Just don't listen to them. I think they just remind this of her, because of the fuss =MizAmy had posted, they are trying to connect every little detail with copying.
And if I am wrong, they can just hang me, because the FREEDOM of making things you love is just... gone on deviantART. everything needs to be special these days.
I, and maybe even others have been fighting with the ideas that they are maybe copying someone, or aren't even original. and it just makes me SICK that some people are just hating over that fact and complain about these people.
I'd say, just carry on with what you love to do, and let NO ONE influence that.
