Description
Eh, I'm no expert, but here you go BruiseyandKeith1lulz There're more ways to "measure" but I'm just trying to simplify it the best way I can. (I can make 2 more tutorials on other measuring tricks…grids etc.) I normally don't draw using grids or guidelines…some people draw sketches of circles and lines first then outline….I just draw straight out (with loose sketches) Everyone works differently. Experiment to see what you like best.
Best thing to do is creep on people and make gazillion of sketches to improve.
Just notice the relative position of the ears to where the eyes are. How many arms does it take to go down a body? Where does the elbow bend in relation to someone's waist? Notice where someone's fingertips end on their thighs. Etc. These things help composing a proportionate body.
Guys, I apologize on answering to your comments like a snail. I just got back home…and gotta apply to work places and such. 0_0 They get taken so damn fast. lol i still have yet to compose a proper resume. Sigh. Dafuq AiDYN!

I had already crept on people to see where the elbow is compared to torso, where the hands end on thighs, the shape of back from neck to butt, and now after reading this I be creeping some more 😂 😂

*checks* ...Holy crackers they are. I HAVE NORMAL SIZED FEET!!
So like... What are realistic-ish head-neck-and-shoulder proportions? I'm experimenting, but I can't come up with anything definitive...

Wow, thank you for doing this! I've "studied" anatomy for a while now, and have got maybe a bit too perfectionist with it (nothing has turned out too well..). But this summarizes well the most important parts! Gotta keep that "amount of heads" in mind

Hm... I'm unproportionate! My middle finger touches my eyebrow and my foot is a good inch and a half smaller than my forearm... I also have really small feet, hands, and basically everything. Standing proud at officially 5' 1 1/4" <3 Also I have really big doe-y eyes for my face, with an sort of unrealistic waist, and really long legs for my torso. Yep my doctor had to inform me of all of this. Guess I'm sort of what society wants in a girl....?
Thanks for this... I <3 it

cartooning is an answer... practice is the better one, but lemme tell ya, in cartooning [as you may have seen] the proportions and anatomy dont always fallow the rules [hence the reason their expressions are easily made and making the funny ones funnier]
simplifying helps a whole lot, i hope this helps in someway
also you dont have to do cartoons, as i said practice is the better answer....i just went with both

Sorry to bother you, I know you're probably really busy, but you're so awesome. I just wondered how you figure out your poses?
Erm thanks and don't worry if you're too busy or if your hand is bothering you, it's really not important. Have a nice day.

XD you are not bothering me. Either hoogle search for the pose you want or get someone else to pose for you.
But normally, I just see those in my head.

H-how on Earth does this big hand get supported on such a thin wirst- *SHOT*
A pretty smooth cover of the basics Now I finally understand why my portraits always feel so off. While head proportions are pretty obvious and simple to use, I can't even concentrate on that face tutorial enough to read it... Let alone apply it in reality LOL
Btw, Snail, what's your favourite excuse for bad anatomy? Mine is "s/he's coming from a family with a looooong history of imbreeding"
