Description Painted this for a friend of my brother's who loves the Ecco: the Dolphin series. Not gonna lie, I could not make it past the first few levels of any of them. I'm not good with the super-difficult old games...but the Ecco games are pretty cool.

I would appreciate if anybody told me if this looks particularly dark on their monitors...it has come to my attention that my screen may be on the bright side, and I want to know how others see it.

This looks very good, and it doesn't seem too dark for me. Though only you know what its meant to look like I would suggest trying to view it on another monitor to check, maybe at a friends house or library? Once you find out if your screen is ok or not, you can calibrate it and make sure its at the right settings. I had a similar problem when I was doing all my paintings on my laptop, its contrast was seriously high, so whenever anyone saw my paintings, they were twice as colourful as they should have been xD

Ah, yeah. I'm not sure if there is any middle ground when it comes to monitors, though. I look at things with a Mac monitor, it's very dark and saturated, then I look at it with a different PC, all of a sudden it lacks contrast and color. I wish this sort of thing was standardized. :/

It is a really touch problem I know :/ And yeah seriously, every monitor should be the same xD

Absolutely beautiful! I love the painterly style, it goes well with the underwater environment. The color scheme is lovely too, nice and unusual. Great shiny effect on his skin too.

I love this dolphin. You should paint more dolphins. I think it looks fine, not too dark at all.

No, it's not too dark at all. Beautiful painting, by the way. It makes me want to look up these games you're talking about!

Thanks! They are worth watching a playthrough of. Unique, and beautiful graphics for their time. I also hear the games are very atmospheric!

I did go and watch some youtube videos of the games, they look lovely. I had a Genesis growing up, too bad I never heard of these games! Oh well, that's what emulators are for.

It looks appropriately dark, I think - he's in the deep ocean so of course it would be. I can still make out the relevant details, and what beautiful details they are! : D

Very cool!

Ecco for the Sega Genesis (whichever that one was) taught me pain as a child.

Pain and suffering indeed. But my brother's friend can beat the games in no time flat, apparently. Still having trouble being able to fathom that--I'd have to see it to believe it.

Ecco 1 and Ecco Tides of Time both debuted on the Genesis. I've only played the first game, myself.

Also for Blake, the picture looks fine on my screen.

For one of the Ecco games there's a glitch/cheat where if you can jump high enough to get over the rocks on the right side at the top you can skip a few levels
