This is the first PMD story I've seen in which the protagonist doesn't want to join a Guild. It's pretty neato!

OMG! I just got an interesting idea! Do you all remember the scene with the Pokemon that wants to be in the guild, but is too scared to go and then runs to the beach and stumbles upon the human turned Pokemon? He could be the scared Pokemon! There is maybe no beach, but the forest is close. He could stumble there above a Human turned Pokemon and this Human actually wants to be in the guild and just drags Zack along^^

The Pokemon Mystery Dungeon universe is kind of nuts when you think about. Specific species of Pokemon hold a monopoly over 'regular' jobs to the point that the only place that has jobs regularly open to all has death as a hazard pay.
