Following on from my Trek sketchdump: [link]This is the shuttle at the bottom left of that series.
Just blocked in the shapes, though after comparing it to the sketch again I'm planning to modify the lines quite a bit. I've also got some ideas on how to make the bussard collector look less like a giant bleeding scab.
I like the sort of sculptural shape, though, so I'll be taking quite a minimalist approach. Not tooooo many surface details, if I can get away with it. Any C&Cs welcome.

This is a nice translation of the sketch. The design is swoopy like a racer, but maybe not utilitarian enough for the Federation. If you scaled it up, it might make a sleek frigate.

Thanks for the feedback. I agree, it doesn't have the sense of function over form that a Federation design really requires. I half considered just forgetting about the Trek influence to get away from that, as I'm quite fond of the swoopyness. In the end I think I'll just see how it turns out, and maybe make a more utilitarian version later. Like a car company's concept design that'll never be mass-produced, but might influence a future model. Might work up some frigate designs based on it too, so thanks for that suggestion.
