Drunk off the blood flowing from Triss Merigold's neck, the Katakan gorges on her neck in attempt to prevent any drop of blood to be wasted. Triss in such a state of shock, any opportunity to cast a defensive spell has slipped her mind as the Katakan feasts upon her lovely neck, like a fruit fly to fruit.

As consciousness fades from Yennefer, Dettlaff takes admiration over Yennefer's body as blood trickles onto her supple breasts. Normally such a presentation would be difficult to resist for a Katakan but fortunately Triss's blood was just as sweet. Yennefer loses complete control of her body and falls to her knees, Dettlaff gently guides her to the ground. He lifts his head away from Yennefer's neck for a brief moment to savor the situation, warm blood dripping off his chin. Dettlaff looks ahead to observe the Katakan that accompanied him. Triss's body has gone limp as the higher vampire feasts her blood as sweet nectar. The screams have all but left the room and the noise of slurping and sucking is present in the room. But Dettlaff knows the job has yet to be finished. He returns to the warm blood still within Yennefer.

Hours later...

Three hours before sunrise. Fringilla Vigo, a Nilfgaardian sorceress and a member of the Lodge of Sorceresses, returns to the Inn where she was to meet Yennefer. A cold breath brushes the back of her neck, Fringilla turns around to see a vacant hallway, only laughter from the bar downstairs was present in the corridor. Fringilla opens the door to Yennefer's room to be dismayed. her eyes gaze upon the horror before her. The lifeless bodies of Yennefer and Triss lay in the bedroom, the blood drained from the necks, the neck wounds on both sorceresses clearly point the vampires. A dark void suddenly takes shape behind Fringilla but she's already too late to act. Dettlaff is too quick for the sorceress; such is the skill of a higher vampire. To ensure a quick struggle, the vampire's hand prevents Fringilla's voice from conjuring any spells to be uttered from her mouth. He bares his fangs onto her neck, the blood of sorceress is too exotic to ignore. Fringilla stands still as stone helplessly, her blood slowly drained from her body like fine wine.

Dettlaff van der Eretein has declared war on the Lodge of Sorceresses...
