Description
One of the earliest vehicles of storytelling that I was I exposed to was a little bear with a propensity for adventure named Teddy Ruxpin. A particular episode that stands out was a journey undertaken by Teddy and his companions to rescue a captured princess and claim a lost treasure at a place called Hard-to-Find City. This said location was a ruined metropolis hidden atop remote mountains and inhabited by a mysterious race of creatures called Gutangs. While they were probably not the original architects of this lofty perch, and while they were not the best house-keepers, the Gutangs were definitely advanced by the standards of their world. They possessed sophisticated weaponry, even airplanes, that made Hard-to-Find City dangerous to enter, and almost impossible to escape. This setting made for thrilling and spectacular storytelling for children.
