I've wanted to put Shelby into scifi garb for a long while but could never decide how I would go about getting the art or who I would get it from.
So eventually I just decided heck it I'll do it myself and now here we are! The same old lovable cow mom out of her depth in a world that's much bigger than she anticipated, but in this universe instead of leaving home to become an adventurer she somehow got mixed up with employment from the Imperium of Man's most holiest secret police, the Inquisition, where she acts as an acolyte to an enigmatic Inquisitor. Now with that adorable bit of character design where highland cows have their hair in front of their faces, a detail that I am so mad at myself for not thinking of until now >
She plays the role of bodyguard and breacher for when muscle or intimidation is needed, jobs that don't require her to talk much. Which is just as well because the moment she opens her mouth any would-be intimidation targets would realize how much of a softie she is and immediately become unafraid. But that's fine, the rosette does most of the talking she needs when her stature isn't enough. And it's not like all that muscle can't be put to work when things inevitably go bad now and then. She's still 12+ feet of an abhuman powerhouse, and that big iron on her hip is no mere sidearm. That's a straight up astartes-sized bolter--not a bolt pistol, but a full bolter. It was a good faith gift from her employer that she's only had to use a few times.
Also, being in 40k doesn't mean she's any less prone to "unfortunate incidents" of size alteration. On more than one occasion she's found herself wrestling with giant beasts or city-sized robots after those clumsy hooves of hers put her in the path of experimental rays or mutagenic serums or whatever. If anything the realms of scifi offer even MORE opportunities for shenanigans to occur, all powered by the strongest hand-wavium imaginable! So expect to see more of Shelby in this particular setting, alongside her regular fantasy fair.
