Yup. Basically.
FTM is an "outside term". As I call it... It describes what people on the outside see, but not what I actually go through. I don't like to use it because people hear that and think "a girl that became a boy" not. "A boy in the wrong body".

Because female and male are words used to describe sex and not gender, I don't think FtM really suggests that you weren't always a boy, just that you weren't always male-bodied. When you transition, you're actually transitioning sex, not gender. You're not becoming a boy/man, you already are one; transitioning really means becoming male, which is why we use FtM. But I prefer just to say transman. Or just boy/man.

I agree, and use FtM (which I am) when it comes up. But due to the way a lot of people conflate sex and gender (most people don't take gender studies courses or participate in LGBT groups, after all), some people need a reminder that the identity came before the desire for sex change, rather than the other way around.

Oh of course, and I think it's really important to remind people that you have always been a boy. I think that FtM is confusing for a lot of people, because we really live in a time when the mainstream has not yet recognised the distinction between sex and gender, and definitely not the difference between female/male and man/woman. Even a lot of the LGBTIQ groups on DA are still using male and female to describe genders. That's mostly why I use transman or transwoman rather than FtM or MtF, because I think that really forces people to take the focus off of what body you were born with and just recognise you for your gender identity. The trans just means you were born in the wrong body, it doesn't make you any less of a man.
Anyway, great stamp

Yes, even I use man when I mean male or female when I mean woman sometimes - then again, I am frequently careless when it comes to most technical terminology, whether it's in math, music, LGBT stuff, literary criticism, or other areas. Other times I'm exactingly precise, so it's something I need to work on.

Uhhm...I sort of have what could probably be considered as rude question >.<
Do FtM's/MtF's identify themselves as being born into the wrong physical sex from childhood, or is it something realized later in life, like some people's sexuality? God, I hope that wasn't offensive. Sorry if it was >.<

It's not offensive, don't worry! Not rude at all, just curious
A lot of transgendered people note feeling "different" since childhood but not being able to put a name to it, other knew it or wished they were the other when they were little, and even some get it later in life. It really depends on who you talk to!

Love the stamp! Being ftm myself I agree with the answer of feeling different since childhood. Took highschool and a glbt group to come to terms with and understand exactly "how" I was different.

I like this because, although the XtY (or YtX - just noticed the variables look similar to the letters used to name the sex chromosomes) designations can clarify communication, this is a useful reminder since those who are uninformed of trans issues get caught up in the sex change aspect, looking at it as someone who simply wishes to become the other gender, seeing it from a gender=sex perspective.

Ftm is meant to show gender as transition from assigned to actual rather than a start to finish process.

I know. But I know people that have always just considered themselves a boy, and they say there's no such thing as transitioning into who they already were. Simply making the outside match. Blah blah blah.
