The fire was burning dimly. The candle wax was slowly trickling down as the fire's light flickered. A hoof reached forward to grab a small tea cup. The pony held the tea cup close to her chest as she watched the fire flicker slowly. Her silky pink mane laid across her shoulders as a heavy sigh was released. Another day had come and gone, all that was left was to curl in a nice warm bed, perhaps even with a special someone, and lay her head to rest for the night. But her heart was heavy, and tonight was especially getting to her. Every morning she'd start the day with a flicker of hope that today will be that day. Than every night she'd stay up till she couldn't no more and full of sorrow, turn in for the night. So why would tonight be any different for her? The mare sipped her tea slowly, allowing the warmth comfort her soul. A few steps away an old ball of fur looked. It was an older bunny with circles under his eyes. Footsteps filled the quiet room as it stopped next to the bunny. The bunny's gaze went from his owner up to the creature next to him. His red-yellow eyes met his as they both held a look of concern. Normally the two boys would find some way to annoy one another, seeing as these two never really got along, but this time the bigger creature reached down to offer his lion's paw to the bunny to hop onto. Leaping into his paw, he brought the bunny to lay upon his shoulder. His gaze than rested on the pegasus mare. Taking in a deep breath, he walked forward to her.

His arms rested calmly on her shoulders. He began to massage her shoulders soothingly as she leaned back a little into his sturdy figure. Her eyes were closed as his voice pierced the silent air. "Come to bed now my dear." "I will soon." she replied slowly. His tail curled as he said, "It's already pass the midnight's hour." "After my tea I'll join you." she replied simply, her eyes remaining closed. He shared a look with the bunny as the bunny slid down his shoulders to be sitting right next to the mare. The bunny pawed at his owner's hoof as she finally opened her eyes to look at him. She smiled weakly as she said, "I'm okay Angel." Angel's head was patted briefly as she placed her tea down. A couple moments of silence went by as the mare replied, "I promise I'll be right behind you Dissy." Discord's heart twisted in pain as he felt for his wife. He bent down as he planted a kiss on her neck whispering softly, "I love you Fluttershy." She let out a sigh as she replied, "I love you too." Discord slowly parted away as he headed for the door. Taking one last look at her, Discord let out a heavy-hearted sigh before making his way to their room.

Fluttershy petted the top of Angel's head. She gazed out the window into the night sky. Emotions were starting to take a toll again as she could feel tears begin to well up. She did her best to suppress them back as she slowly got up. Softly blowing out the candle, she turned to make way to her beloved. But as she was walking she heard a faint laughter. Shaking her head she thought I must be imagining things now. She continued walking when that laughter seem more bold and clear. Her eyes were round as she quickly went for the door. Hooves impacting on the cool crisp grass she ran a few ways from the house as she looked out into the horizon. Discord, hearing the ruckus, floated quickly to his wife. "Fluttershy," he exclaimed, "What in Equestria are you-" "Chance!" Flutterhsy called out, interrupting Discord, "Lily!" Discord dropped his arm as he said, "Oh Fluttershy." Coming behind her he tried to say, "Dear, you haven't been sleeping properly, let's go-" "Lily! Chance!" Fluttershy's called again, filling the quiet air. Silence was the reply as Fluttershy felt tears coming to her. Discord was about to say something when something faint filled the silent air. "Mom. Dad." Discord and Fluttershy's ears perked at the faint sound as they looked together in the direction they heard the cry. They peered their eyes carefully. Two small figures were beginning to come into view as they strained there eyes to see clearly. "Lily?" Discord said slowly. "Mom!" came a louder reply. "Chance?" Fluttershy said more hopefully. "Dad!" came a confident reply.

Lily and Chance were sprinting as soon as they saw their parents clearly. Discord and Fluttershy stood in shock for a couple moments before they both darted to the on-coming cubs. "Lily! Chance!" they cried in unison. "Mom! Dad!" they replied. Lily leaped in the air and into her father's arms as he swinged her around, holding her close into his embrace. Fluttershy leaped as she reached out to touch her son. "My babies! My precious babies! It's you! You're here!" Fluttershy cried. "Mama!" Chance cried as he melted in his mother's soft touch. "Oh Daddy! I missed you so much!" Lily said tearfully. Discord just hugged her tighter as more tears fell down. Discord than used his tail to wrap around Chance and Fluttershy as he brought them in for a group hug. The family held one another tightly as their tears kept rushing down their faces. When they pulled back they looked at their two children. Holding them close together they pressed their foreheads to theirs. "We're home." Lily and Chance said in unison.

They stayed like that for a couple of moments. When they finally pulled back Fluttershy held the side's of her children's faces. "Oh my darlings," she started before giving a harsh stare she pulled both their ears as she said, "Where in Equestria have you been?" "Ow ow ow ow yeah should have expected that," Lily said as Chance added, "I mean we had that coming." Fluttershy stopped suddenly as she threw her arms around her children's necks saying, "You had me worried sick!" Lily and Chance smiled at one another before feeling a shadow loom over them. Gulping they slowly looked up to meet Discord's gaze. That fatherly gaze when you done goofed up. "Shall we do this now or in the morning?" he muttered. Fluttershy pulled back as Lily stepped forward saying, "Actually, we need to do this now." Discord wasn't expecting that answer as Chance said, "Pop, we did something incredible." Fluttershy and Discord exchanged a glance as Lily said, "If we may, there's something we want you to see..."
